Get It With G
Hello everyone,
President’s
Message
I must start off this article by saying “How about
those Steelers”!!! Yes, I am a big Steelers fan and I
love every minute of their victory.
Well, Steamboat was awesome. The snow couldn’t
have been better and some days we skied on
Champagne powder. By the way Sara, you did a great
job as trip leader. I really enjoyed the Hoagie Party
because we had a chance to come together again in
the middle of the week as a group to share stories
about our skiing and hot spring excursion.
Dennis Halterman, Nicole and Jim Daisey met up
to ski with Billy the Kid and our own Winter Trip
Chair, Bill Caden, won a Silver medal in the NASTAR
competition. Go Bill!! If you want more stories you
will have to pry it out of me or read all about it in
Sara’s article. What happens in Steamboat stays in
Steamboat. LOL
Back to business, yes it is getting close to that time
of the year again. As we all know, Mike Gilbert will
Membership Contest
Bring in a New Member and
You Could Win a Fabulous Prize!!
For each NEW paying member you bring into the club, you
are given one chance for the drawings. This must be a new
person who has never before been a member (i.e. no past
members coming back into the club). The person must list your
name on their membership application BEFORE it is submitted.
The contest runs from January to December 2006.
Every two months, prizes will be drawn with the Grand Prize
announced at the annual Holiday Party. Members do not have to be
present to win. The more members you bring in, the greater your
chances are of winning. See membership table for contest rules.
Fall Line is kicking off their 40th year celebration
at this year's Spring Fling on April 22nd.
Don't miss it.
be our incoming President, but we are still in need of
volunteers for President-Elect, Treasurer-Elect,
Secretary and several positions for board members at
large. We are in need of volunteers for these important
positions because this club cannot be run without
them. Each candidate who is interested in becoming a
board member and would like to run for the board
should write an autobiography that will be due by
March 12, 2006. The autobiographies will be published
in the April Newsletter. The Board of Directors makes
a lot of key decisions and if you would like to make a
difference, the only way to do this is to get involved
such as being a board member or a member of our
committiees such as Winter Trip or ABS. Please
contact Mike Gilbert or me if you would like to run for
the board.
In closing, I would just like to remind all the past and
present members that the ski club is celebrating our
40th Anniversary this year and will kick off our
celebration during the Spring Fling. Please contact me
with any ideas to help make our 40th Anniversary a
blast, but be sure to buy your tickets for the Spring
Fling. They are on sale now.
Thanks Steve Beach for becoming a new weekend trip
leader this year. I did not mean to leave your name out of
my article last month.
Happy Birthday Kathy Walgate.
