A tour of duty was or ganised by
the Redlands Branch and with a
few members from other branches
we were the first Australians to
join with the French forces and
march with them in their Bastille
Day celebrations in Noumea,
French New Caledonia. This
event was so well received that
we were invited to return for the
next Bastille Day celebration.
Head Of fice Qld. of fered to
organise the tour the next year but
it was handed back to us which we did. Unfortunately this was not carried on and this was a pity as we had
made good relations between Noumea and Australia.
