Ferno Tradesman Full Body Harness 

Code VHI TRADE B (Basic) 

The Tradesman Full Body Harness has been designed 

as a multi-purpose harness for use in general fall arrest 

situations where front and rear fall arrest attachment 

points are required. 

Construction workers, riggers, any person who works 

on an EWP and cherry pickers will find this harness 

very versatile. It is designed to contain the torso in a 

safe, upright position, while distributing the fall arrest 

forces throughout the body in the event of a fall. 

A breathable mesh back panel helps keep the shape of 

the harness in place for easy and quick donning. Forged 

steel sliding buckles allow for quick and easy chest, waist 

and leg adjustments for a correct and secure fit. 

The Tradesman Full Body Harness is AS/NZ 1891.1 

approved. Available in S, M and L. 

Ferno Centrepoint Sit Harness 

Code VHI CEN SIT 

The Ferno Centrepoint Sit Harness is a fully adjustable, user 

friendly lightweight harness. It is particularly comfortable to 

wear due to its extra wide padded waist belt and leg loops. 

It is ideally suited for rescue work and rope access. 

Under AS/NZ 1891:1 guidelines, this harness is classified for 

limited free fall only and is ideal when combined with a chest 

harness. The harness also incorporates two side D-rings for 

pole strap restrained fall. This harness is available in S, M, 

and L.

Adjustable Multi-Purpose Lanyard Code Vai ADJ EA FAL 

Easy to inspect, maintain and use, this lanyard is ideal for working on elevated work 

platforms and working at heights near exposed edges. This lanyard is more durable 

as it is constructed of rope. It has a travel restraint mode that assists in the 

prevention of accidents and potential falls. It is able to be adjusted from 60 cm to 

200 cm . The length of the rope can be adjusted by a rope grab, which provides 

stability by being securely fastened. The rope is terminated to prevent dismantling 

of the system. 

Wire Energy Absorber Lanyard 

Code HS-LY80P 

Galvanised wire rope with energy absorber. The wire rope 

may be a suitable alternative to webbing when working 

with chainsaws and other cutting tools. It comes with two 

screwgate steel carabiners.

Ferno Flexx QC Code VHI FLEXX QC 

The Ferno Flexx QC is quick and easy to don and adjust. To further enhance 

this feature it also incorporates quick connect buckles on each leg strap. 

All leg, waist and upper body straps pivot from two laterally positioned 

O-rings which allow the harness to flex, adjust and conform to all body 

shapes and sizes. The Flexx QC also features a rear fall arrest attachment 

point, retrieval points and front fall arrest attachment points. A pole strap 

can be used by connecting to both side O-rings. The Flexx QC is approved to 

AS/NZ1891.1:2007.

The Tree Strap is a cut resistant system that comes 

complete with double braid rope, steel wire core and a 

stainless steel rope adjuster. It comes with a screw gate

Elasticised Energy Absorber 

Lanyard Code HS-LY10 EL 

A single elasticised web lanyard complete with energy 

absorber. The elasticised webbing minimises entanglement 

in the work area. It is supplied with a screw gate steel carabiner

Pole Strap EN2 NZ Code VAI POLE EN2 NZ 

The premium AS/NZ approved pole strap is available in 

various lengths from 1.9 m to 4 m depending on the 

user’s individual circumstances. It is supplied standard 

with two double action steel hooks. Also available with 

double action alloy hooks, steel or alloy carabiners 

(screwgate or triplock). Supplied standard with either a 

durable leather sleeve or a webbing protective sheath. 

An optional D-ring can be supplied as an attachment 

point for hanging tools and gear up to 50 kg.

Bokat Rope Washer Code CMC294060 

The Bokat Rope Washer cleans rope with a combination of 

water pressure and brushing action. The plastic body clamps 

over the rope, while the velcro closure allows adjustment to 

rope size for maximum efficiency. The inside is lined with 

synthetic turf which scrubs the rope as it is pulled through 

the washer. For use with ropes up to 19 mm the Bokat Rope 

Washer can be used with Ferno Rope and Harness Wash. 

Rope Finishing 

Ferno’s soft goods manufacturing department 

can manufacture rope components to individual 

specifications. Splicing of both standard and 

double braid synthetic rope along with quality 

sewing of Kernmantle rope in accordance with 

AS/NZS 1891 Industrial Fall Arrest Systems and 

Devices Standards is available. An array of plastic, 

stainless steel and galvanised steel thimble fittings 

ensures a perfect custom solution.

Codes VAS WASH (500 ml bottle) and VAS WASH 25 (25 L container) 

A highly concentrated clear blue liquid 

that is not harmful to the polyester and 

nylon used in sport and industrial safety 

harnesses or climbing and abseiling 

ropes. Rope and Harness Wash is 

environmentally friendly, bio-degradable 

and does not contain any phosphates, 

bleaches or fragrances and has a neutral 

pH and an S.G. 1.07. Rope and Harness 

Wash is low foaming, free rinsing with 

excellent soil removal properties and 

contains optical brighteners for excellent 

colour retention. Available in a 500 ml 

bottle or 25 L bulk container.

Ferno offer a range of tool strops (also known as tool lanyards) including standard length, elasticised and 

tear away versions. The tearaway strop is constructed with a tear away safety strap that is designed to 

absorb the force or shock load of a chainsaw fall. The safety strap will begin to tear when approximately 

90 kg or greater of force is applied. It is also available in an elasticised version that reduces the length 

of the strop when not under load and to minimise entanglement in the work area.

Specifically designed for technical rope access and ideal 

for use by height access technicians, arborists and tower 

workers who are exiting via a long rope descent. The 

Scarab Descender has a multi-use rope adjustment device 

that takes the load of two people and also features double 

stop capabilities. In technical rope access situations it 

must always be used in conjunction with a type A device 

or an EN353-2 back-up device and safety line.

The new Ferno FDU is designed for personal rescue, emergency escape, rescue 

operations or specialised rope work. It is a friction control, double stop, descending 

system, with a simple and soft moulded operator handle. The system starts releasing 

its load when the handle is moved towards the central position. Should a panic grab 

take place and the handle is pulled past the central position, the system locks up into 

the double stop mode. This mode will only be maintained with the force exerted by 

the operator, until a gentle release takes place. If the handle is let go, the system 

automatically locks. For rescue loads (2 persons) the Ferno FDU is available with an 

additional friction rack. 

The Ferno FDU100 and FDU200 are designed for use with 11 mm static kernmantle 

rescue rope. Ferno recommend the use of the Donaghys 11 mm Response Static 

Rope and Donaghys 11 mm Response XT Rope (see page 8). The Ferno FDU has 

been extensively tested with this rope and when used in conjunction with Donaghys 

11 mm Response Static Rope and Donaghys 11 mm Response XT Rope will conform to 

AS/NZS488.1.1997.
