gets to the door, JXK'S leaving prcves too much: he feels
like someone's pulling his guts out, hand over hand, a yard
at a time.
He stumbles ir:to an alley, drops to his knees in the iinirling
new snow. Kneels there, silent, as pain, longing, loneLiness
overpower him, emotions stronger than he's ever felt fcr
another person consume him: he feels as bad and confused as
he ever has in his life. Pcnches the wall, bloodyin; both
his knuckles, his eyes fill with angry, stinging tears.
A COh53Y passes the alley. Pauses, looks at ENNIS.
ERIiIS Glares at him.
The COivXOY moves on.
ENNIS
( growls )
