Welcome to Columbus and the 69th Midwest Fish & Wildlife
Conference! I hope that you’ll find the heart of the Buckeye State
a great venue for exploring our theme, Foundation for the Future
of Fish & Wildlife Management. From great hotel accommodations
and a variety of casual dining opportunities to excellent
meeting facilities at the Hyatt Regency, our planning committee
hopes to provide you with an enjoyable stay and an excellent
technical program. Fine meals will be provided at both the Sunday
and Tuesday night receptions.
Attendees of the 1998 Midwest Fish & Wildlife Conference
hosted in Ohio may recall a lively social with VERY live music
provided by Ohio’s own Menus. I am pleased to announce that
the Menus will return for our Tuesday night gathering and can
confirm that they haven’t slowed down a bit! Make sure to save
some time during your busy week to unwind on Tuesday night for
an evening to remember.
Our planning committee is following Wisconsin’s lead from the
68th Conference by minimizing the amount of printed materials,
banners, and other items that ultimately end up in landfills. While
we’ve tried to keep costs down, we also may have missed a few
details. If you need assistance at any time during the conference,
please don’t hesitate to stop by the registration area or notify
conference staff who will be wearing lime green t-shirts with the
word “STAFF” printed on the back to help you recognize them.
Thanks again for joining us in Columbus
for the 69th Midwest Fish & Wildlife Conference!
