APPRENTICES RECEIVE THEIR <strong>NVQ2</strong> DIPLOMAS AT THE <strong>FeRFA</strong><br />

AWARDS<br />

The highlight of <strong>the</strong> <strong>FeRFA</strong> <strong>Awards</strong> Dinner is when we are able to acknowledge <strong>the</strong> achievement<br />

of our apprentices each year and <strong>the</strong>y are presented with <strong><strong>the</strong>ir</strong> NVQ Level 2 <strong>diplomas</strong>, <strong>FeRFA</strong><br />

certific<strong>at</strong>es and ID badges.<br />

This year <strong>the</strong>re were apprentices from In Situ Resin Flooring and <strong>the</strong> Surface Prepar<strong>at</strong>ion and<br />

Profiling courses.<br />

Three of this year’s successful candid<strong>at</strong>es were able to be <strong>at</strong> <strong>the</strong> ceremony and were presented<br />

with <strong><strong>the</strong>ir</strong> apprenticeship completion certific<strong>at</strong>es, <strong>FeRFA</strong> certific<strong>at</strong>e of achievement and <strong>the</strong> <strong>FeRFA</strong><br />

ID badge by <strong>the</strong> <strong>FeRFA</strong> Trainer, Terry Foxley.<br />

Achieving <strong>the</strong> NVQL2 in In Situ Resin Flooring was: Glenn Pearce of Central Flooring Services Ltd;<br />

and in Surface Prepar<strong>at</strong>ion and Profiling were: John Barrass and Paul Henderson of The<br />

Prepar<strong>at</strong>ion Group.<br />

Everyone involved with <strong>the</strong> apprenticeship schemes had been impressed by <strong><strong>the</strong>ir</strong> enthusiasm and<br />

willingness to learn both <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>ory work in <strong>the</strong> classroom and all <strong>the</strong> new practical skills th<strong>at</strong> were<br />

required of <strong>the</strong>m.<br />

Helen McGachie, <strong>FeRFA</strong> CEO, acknowledged <strong>the</strong> commitment, not only from <strong>the</strong> candid<strong>at</strong>es<br />

<strong>the</strong>mselves, but from <strong><strong>the</strong>ir</strong> employers in making time for <strong>the</strong>m to <strong>at</strong>tend <strong>the</strong> courses and ensuring<br />

<strong>the</strong>y <strong>receive</strong>d sufficient on-site training in all <strong>the</strong> necessary skills. She also thanked <strong>the</strong> <strong>FeRFA</strong><br />

manufacturer and surface prepar<strong>at</strong>ion members for making <strong>the</strong> scheme possible by providing <strong><strong>the</strong>ir</strong><br />

facilities and m<strong>at</strong>erials, and VI Distribution for providing each apprentice candid<strong>at</strong>e with full PPE.<br />

<strong>FeRFA</strong> is committed to qualifying its workforce as part of its circle of quality and <strong>the</strong> award of <strong>the</strong>se<br />

NVQs to apprentices is an important link in this chain.<br />
