“Manny” Pacquiao has remained<br />

among the world’s 100 most powerful<br />

celebrities, joining the likes of Oprah<br />

Winfrey, Justin Bieber, and LeBron<br />

James, according to Forbes 14th<br />

annual Celebrity 100 list.<br />

But the re-elected Saranggani<br />

representative’s 78th ranking is a big<br />

slide from his 33rd place in 2012.<br />

Oprah Winfrey, meanwhile,<br />

regains her No. 1 spot after placing<br />

second for two consecutive years.<br />

Lady Gaga is No. 2.<br />

Pacquiao, who suffered a brutal<br />

one-punch knockout loss to Juan<br />

Manuel Marquez on December 8, is<br />

ahead of internationally-renowned<br />

author J.K. Rowling of the Harry<br />

Potter series (82nd) and fellow boxer<br />

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (88th).<br />

He trails behind film director and<br />

writer Christopher Nolan (76th), who<br />

directed The Dark Knight trilogy and<br />

Inception, author Stephen King<br />

(75th), and actress Gwyneth Paltrow<br />

(71st), who starred in the Iron Man<br />

movies series.<br />

In terms of money, Pacquiao<br />

ranks 57th for his $34 million<br />

estimated total gross income from<br />

<strong>June</strong> 1 last year up to this year. He is<br />

tied at 57 with Mayweather.<br />

In terms of media exposure,<br />

Pacquiao places 82nd in TV/Radio<br />

rank and 81st in Press ranking. He<br />

trails behind host Ryan Seacrest at 71<br />

and actress Sandra Bullock at 75 in<br />

the Press ranking.<br />

Pacquiao is tied at 60 with singer<br />

Rihanna, champion runner Usain Bolt,<br />

and actor Charlie Sheen in the<br />

Marketability rankings. The<br />

marketability rank “is a measure of<br />

how desirable each celebrity is to<br />

marketers,” according to Forbes.<br />

In terms of the Social ranking,<br />

Pacquiao (56th) ranks higher than<br />

business mogul Donal Trump (59th),<br />

musician Jay-Z (66th), and actor<br />

Robert Downey Jr. who starred in the<br />

Iron Man movie series.<br />

“Each star’s number [in the social<br />

ranking] is a reflection of how popular<br />

he or she is on the Internet,” Forbes<br />

said.<br />

Oprah, the queen of<br />

entertainment, is back on top after<br />

placing second for two consecutive<br />

years. Lady Gaga (No. 2), with her<br />

massive social media presence,<br />

moved up from the fifth spot last year,<br />

followed by director Steven Spielberg<br />

(No. 3) and Beyoncé (No. 4).<br />

Madonna (No. 5) is a returnee to the<br />

list, rounding out the top five.<br />

Musicians dominate the Top Ten<br />

in <strong>2013</strong>. Country superstar Toby Keith<br />

of the most loyal fans in music, and<br />

Celebrity couple Luis Manzano<br />

and Jennylyn Mercado have been<br />

doing their part to help save the<br />

environment through their favorite<br />

water sports activity – scuba diving.<br />

Information Agency, Luis and Jennylyn<br />

have joined the Department of<br />

Environment and Natural Resources<br />

(DENR), UP Marine Science Institute,<br />

Malampaya Foundation and other<br />

volunteers from private and public<br />

sectors in removing the crown of<br />

thorns starfish in the waters of Bgy.<br />

Sunday were James Yap and his<br />

rumored Italian girlfriend. They were<br />

seen near Notre Dame Cathedral,<br />

apparently looking for a place to dine.<br />

Yap sought advice from another<br />

world’s marine biodiversity, on which<br />

40% of world’s coral reef fish species<br />

and 75% of world’s coral species live.<br />
