FORMULATION:
Specifically formulated to effectively
counteract the pungent malodours
which can occur when autoclaving
equipment soiled with organic matter.
A complex mixture of natural and synthetic fragrance
materials, in viscous liquid form, gelatin-encapsulated.
Highly effective liquid deodoriser, presented in a 1 ml.
gelatin capsule for convenience, hygiene and practicality.
PERFORMANCE:
Each decon autoclave deodoriser capsule contains
highly concentrated fragrance materials. The heat and
moisture of the autoclave in operation cause the gelatin to
dissolve, releasing the deodoriser which effectively
counteracts the malodours produced by the organic soiling.
decon autoclave deodoriser capsules act by neutralising
malodours. They do not simply mask them with a strong
smell, which can be as unpleasant as the malodours
themselves. Nor do they affect the nasal passages, in an
effort to numb the sensory perception of the laboratory
personnel.
By balancing the capsule dose with the capacity of the
autoclave and the degree or organic soiling, highly
unpleasant malodours are replaced with a mild pine
fragrance, thereby greatly improving the working
environment.
APPLICATIONS:
decon autoclave deodoriser capsules are suitable for
use in all makes of laboratory, medical and industrial
autoclave, and will effectively counteract the offensive
malodours which occur when autoclaving equipment
contaminated with blood, pus, faeces, urine, sputum and
sundry organic residues.
The capsules may also be used in conjunction with a
neutral cleaning agent to clean and deodorise bench tops,
floors, walls etc. (see other applications, opposite).

METHODS OF USE:
decon autoclave deodoriser capsules may simply be
tossed into the autoclave, with the soiled load, just prior to
autoclaving.
For ideal dispersion of the deodoriser, place the capsules in
a clean glass beaker and cover with a little cold water.
Position the beaker low down in the autoclave, with the
soiled load, just prior to autoclaving.
APPLICATION RATES:
Each 1 ml. decon autoclave deodoriser capsule is
sufficient to neutralise the malodours from an average load
in a 200 litre capacity autoclave.
The following table is a guide to capsule dosage, based on
a 'typical' load with average soiling. Specific contaminants
and heavier soiling may require a higher dose rate to fully
neutralise the malodours.
Approximate Autoclave Capacity Dose Rate
200 litres (7cu.ft.) 1 capsule
400 litres (14 cu. ft.) 2 capsules
600 litres (21 cu.ft.) 3 capsules
800 litres (28 cu.ft.) 4 capsules
OTHER APPLICATIONS:
decon autoclave deodoriser capsules, combined with
decon neutracon (near neutral pH cleaning agent) makes
an ideal cleaner-deodoriser wash for use on bench tops,
floors, walls etc.
Prepare a 2% solution of decon neutracon with warm
water and carefully add the contents of decon autoclave
deodoriser capsules at the rate of ONE capsule per 5
litres of cleaning solution.
Wear rubber gloves when handling the solution, and avoid
splashing into the eyes.
