• Throughout the 2007 season, Jason Bay and U.S Steel teamed up to support the Ronald<br />

McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh. For every hit Jason recorded, U.S. Steel made<br />

a donation to the Ronald McDonald House, resulting in over $22,500 in 2007 donations.<br />

Over the past three seasons, Jason and U.S. Steel have raised more than $86,500 for the<br />

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh [left] .<br />

>> Del Monte Canned Food Drive & Holiday Food Campaign<br />

Fans were encouraged during the entire 2007 season to bring a Del Monte canned food<br />

product to a Pirates Tuesday home game in exchange for a free children’s ticket. In turn,<br />

the Pirates and Del Monte donated everything that was collected to soup kitchens and city<br />

missions throughout the Pittsburgh region.<br />

The Pirates and Del Monte teamed up for a week-long initiative at Light of Life Rescue<br />

Mission from December 10 through December 14 to serve breakfast to the hungry.<br />

Volunteers from both organizations, including Pirates President Frank Coonelly<br />

General Manager Neal Huntington [below, right] , were on hand each morning to serve the food.<br />
