GENERAL GUIDELINES ON ENTERING SHOWS Where possible, always complete your show entry from your GCCF registration document (ie. Registration or Transfer Certificate) for the cat that is to be exhibited, printing the details carefully to avoid any misinterpretation of your handwriting. If you have not received your registration document at time of entry complete the entry form with the details from the pedigree and put RAF (Registration Applied For) or TAF (Transfer Applied For), or both, in the Reg’d No. box. It is wise to enclose a stamped addressed acknowledgment postcard with all applications to the GCCF but particularly for cats entered at shows so you can be certain they have been received by the GCCF. Exhibitors are advised to keep a copy of the entry form, when registration or transfer details are received check against the entry form and notify the show manager in writing of any differences and give the registration number if applicable. This may not be in time for printing of the catalogue but the show manager will attach your letter to the entry form this will save unnecessary notification of discrepancies when that show is checked. All catalogue errors are checked against the original entry form and any exhibitors’ letters are used for reference. The Show Management are permitted to accept corrections, at their own discretion, up to the close of the show (on Show Day); such a change must not be a change of exhibit. If you are entering several cats from your household and the registered owners (exhibitors) differ within that household / family, please enter the cats belonging to each owner on separate entry forms. For cats in joint ownership both owners must sign the entry form. CHAMPION & PREMIER TITLES The title of Champion for Cats and Premier for Neuters shall be granted to exhibits winning three Challenge Certificates at three shows under separate judges. A GCCF Challenge Certificate will be offered for each Cat / Neuter Open Class of recognised breeds with Championship status. CHAMPION OF CHAMPION & PREMIER OF PREMIERS The title of Grand Champion shall be granted to a Cat winning three Grand Challenge Certificates at three shows under separate judges. To compete in a Grand Challenge Class a Cat must have achieved the title of Champion and no higher title by the published closing date of the show. Only one prize, with a Reserve in case of disqualification, will be granted. The title of Grand premier shall be granted to neutered Cats under the same Rules and Conditions as those for Grand Champion. IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPIONS & IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIERS The title of Imperial Grand Champion shall be granted to a Cat awarded five Imperial Grand Certificates by five different judges. To compete in an Imperial Grand Champion Class a cat must be a full Grand Champion and may not already be an Imperial Grand Champion by the published closing date of the show. Only one prize, with a reserve in the case of disqualification, will be awarded.. The title of Imperial Grand Premier shall be granted to neutered Cats under the same Rules and Conditions as for Imperial Grand Champion. 6
DEFINITION OF CLASSES OLYMPIAN CLASS Open to Imperial titled cats only IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION: Cats of Full Grand Champion status only IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER: Cats of Full Grand Premier status only CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS: Cats of Full Champion status only. PREMIER OF PREMIERS: Cats of Full Premier status only BREED CLASSES: Untitled cats of the specified breed. (Must be GCCF registered.) CATS: Not less than 9 calendar months on the day of the Show. (born on, or before, 17.11.12) KITTENS: Not less than 14 weeks and under 9 months of age on the day of the Show. (Born between 17.11.12 and 11.5.13) Neuter kittens should be entered in ordinary kitten classes. NEUTERS: Neutered cats, both male and female. Neuters may only be entered in the neuter classes and not compete against entire cats or kittens except in Club classes that are scheduled to include neuters. Where Best in Show is held the best Neuter will be considered against the best Entire Adult and Kitten for overall Best Exhibit. DEBUTANTE: Exhibits that have never been shown. Being shown as a Kitten does not count when the exhibit is shown as a Neuter or Adult and being shown as an Adult does not count when shown as a Neuter. LIMIT: Exhibits that have not won more than 4 First prizes under GCCF Rules. NOVICE: Exhibits that have not won a First prize under GCCF Rules. MAIDEN: Exhibits that have never won a First, Second or Third prize under GCCF Rules. BREEDERS: Exhibits bred by Exhibitor(s). Cats originally registered in the Breeders’ joint ownership and changed to single ownership of one of the Breeders can be entered in this class but cats originally registered in the Breeder’s single ownership and subsequently changed to joint ownership with the breeder should be entered in the Non-Breeders class. NON-BREEDERS: Exhibits not bred by the exhibitor or in joint ownership with the Breeder. ADOLESCENT: Cats between 9 months and 15 months of age on the day of the Show. JUNIOR: Cats between 9 months and 2 years of age on the day of the Show. SENIOR: Cats over the age of 2 years on the day of the Show. ARISTOCRAT: Cats with one or two certificates but are not Full Champions or Premiers. RADIUS: Exhibits living within 35 miles of the Show venue. VISITORS: Exhibits living more than 35 miles from the Show venue. ZODIAC: Date of birth relevant to the sign of the zodiac. Pedigree exhibits only. NOTE: The status of the exhibit for the entering restricted classes (eg Maiden. Limit) shall be the cat’s status on the day of entry, except where Section 2, Rule 15e applies. The “wins” as a kitten do not count when the exhibit is shown as an Adult or Neuter. The “wins” as an Adult do not count as a Neuter. Merit awards do not count as “wins” for entering restricted classes. HOUSEHOLD PETS: Non-Pedigree pets are unregistered cats from unregistered or unknown parents, of traditional "moggie" appearance. Pedigree pets are cats of pedigree appearance or with known or unknown full or half pedigree background. They must be entered under their pet name, without prefixes, pedigree titles, or breed numbers. Both non pedigree and pedigree pets compete for certificates which will ultimately lead to the titles of Master Cat, Grand Master Cat and Imperial Grand Master Cat. Both are judged according to the normal household pet criteria only: presentation, condition, temperament and personality. Cats or kittens OVER 6 MONTHS OF AGE must be neutered. HAPPY FAMILIES: Number of cats in the household. These classes are for household pets only. 7
