Since joining the PRBCC I have been supporting the club by donating a lot of my Sparkey Designs Handmade cards, bookmarks,
magnets and door hangers for the club to raise funds. I have also produced an information leaflet, donated tombola and lucky dip
prizes, made bunting for the club show table also designing posters and flyers to promote awareness for the Ragdoll rescue. I hope
Ragdolls first came into my life in 2004 and I fell in love with the Breed. I have been owned by Ragdolls since then and would not
have it any other way. I began showing during 2007 and also started breeding at that time. I have been a member of the PRBCC
since 2007 and joined the committee in 2008. I take my committee membership seriously and take pride in my attendance having
missed only one committee meeting during this time (due to hand rearing a litter of kittens). I have held the roles of Trophy
Secretary and Hon. Secretary.
I’ve been involved with the PRBCC for six years and have been helping at shows most of that time as I did table work at my first
ever cat show for the PRBCC in 2006. I have held roles of Secretary, Treasurer, Trophy Secretary, BAC representative and
Acting Vice Chair and am keen for PRBCC to move sustainably into the future using new technology, through improving
communications with members and helping the breed develop and establish, reducing club costs where possible without reducing
services to members. I breed and show Ragdolls and Snowshoes and work at the University of Northampton.
I have been a member of the club almost from it’s beginning, always remaining loyal even when living abroad.I have been
treasurer twice and have done other jobs within the club including the bacon butties and judges lunches! I have been breeding and
showing cats for 26 yrs now. I am often out and about at the various shows promoting our breed and our friendly club. If elected
onto the committee I will continue to help and support the cats, club and owners in anyway I can, whilst being faithful to our aims
and constitution as I always do.
6. Name Sue Ainge
Proposer Gary Parkes
Seconder Patricia Wyatt
Pen Portrait (100 words or less)
I have no experience being on a Committee, nor do I have any in breeding Ragdoll cats. I do however have a great passion for the
breed and its promotion as I believe it has unique qualities not found in many other cats. This is of course my opinion! Although
some people may feel that my lack of experience would be of no benefit to the Club, I feel that this may actually bring a new
prospective and possibly, some fresh ideas. What I lack in experience, I can assure you I make up for in enthusiasm!
and me we have five children. I joined the committee in 2011 and was appointed the editor of the Rags Progress magazine in
January 2012. I work for a charity supporting adults with Learning Disabilities. While we lived in Spain, I owned and ran a
popular expat magazine called Campo, expanding its area of distribution and readership, and I believe this experience will be of
benefit to the club’s management.
I met my first Ragdoll in 2010 and fell in love with the Breed. I researched the Breed read as much as I could and then went in
search of my first Ragdoll. I had my first litter of babies in 2011 from this litter I kept a lovely female and am besotted with the
breed. I now have two Ragdolls and would like to show them. I joined the PRBCC in 2011 and am keen to help the Club in any
I first found Ragdolls when searching for an indoor companion for our very shy Persian. As soon as I met one I fell in love and as
everyone knows, one is not enough! I have been breeding and showing Ragdolls since 2007 and would love to share any
knowledge I have. I feel that the aims of the PRBCC should be to welcome all and encourage responsible breeding. Having
experienced an HCM scare I also feel that wherever possible we should encourage vets to become more informed and wary of
making a false diagnosis.
12. Name Jayne Canlin
Proposer Denise Adams.
Seconder Jenny Dunstall
Pen Portrait (100 words or less)
I got my first Ragdoll as a kitten nearly 5 years ago; she was on the active register .I got my prefix last year. HCM and PKD
testing are so important to the breed, but not everyone seems to take it seriously! I would like to be on the committee so that we
can encourage others to care about HCM and PKD too!
