Scholarship Reinstatement Application - Instructions
This application is for students who have lost their Florida Institute of Technology
scholarships due to their GPA and either
1) now meet the necessary GPA requirement
2) are taking summer classes that will increase their GPA to meet the requirement
If you did not receive your scholarship last year, but have since brought your GPA up to
the required level, please fill out the Scholarship Reinstatement Application AFTER YOUR
SPRING GRADES HAVE POSTED and summit to our office BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE FALL
SEMESTER, unless given prior approval by a Financial Aid Counselor. Please note that when you
lost your scholarship, we did everything in our power to replace as much of that award as
possible. This means that whatever aid was added on your account to replace your lost
scholarship may have to be removed when your scholarship is reinstated.
If you did not meet the GPA requirement at the end of the spring semester but are
taking classes over the summer to increase your GPA, please wait until your grades are in our
system before filing the Scholarship Reinstatement Application. If you are taking classes on
campus, then once your grades are posted in PAWS, feel free to submit this form to our office.
If you are taking classes at another institute the Financial Aid Office can use the classes that you
transfer into FIT to calculate an overall GPA. However, insure that you have received clearance
from the Office of the Registrar so that you are sure that FIT will accept them as transfer hours.
If FIT does not accept your classes as transfer hours, the Financial Aid Office will not be able to
consider them in recalculating your GPA. Please allow extra time for the Records Office to
process any transfer classes that you have before submitting this form.
It is very important that you do not file the Scholarship Reinstatement Application until
all grades are in PAWS and transfer hours have been accepted and entered (you can see when
this is done in PAWS). The Financial Aid Office will process the Scholarship Reinstatement
Application as soon as we receive it, and if it is submitted before all information is entered into
our system, we may inadvertently process this application on incorrect information. This could
result in an application denial.
