BIOGRAPHY: Cliff <strong>Hard</strong> thinks Elisha and some of his sons went to Canada during the Revolutionary War as<br />

they were Loyalist. Elisha<br />

stayed in Canada for 8 yrs and returned to Bennington in 1784 or thereabouts.<br />

After Elisha died Lucy <strong>Hard</strong> moved to Haverhill Ohio with children and with a family named Canfield. I think<br />

later Lucy <strong>Hard</strong> married Ebenezer Canfield as he is buried next to her.<br />
