ULTRA 8000e The FLIR Ultra 8000e is a stabilized thermal imaging system designed for environmental protection, improved pipeline and processing plant safety, and economic loss prevention through the aerial location of fugitive gases. The system combines powerful continuous-zoom optics with FLIR’s GasFindIR technology to allow you to detect fugitive Alkane and Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) gases from the air. Many industrial gases and volatile organic compounds are invisible to the naked eye, but with its specialized sensor, the U8000e displays many of these fugitive gases as black fumes, and it’s not prone to the false indications commonly experienced with “sniffer” detection systems. Globally, pipeline infrastructures are expanding to meet growing energy needs and developments are encroaching on rural rights-of-way containing hazardous pipelines. The matched thermal and daylight/low-light CCD sensors on the U8000e deliver an advanced and potent airborne tool with the ability to conduct fugitive emission detection and rights-of-way management simultaneously.
