Nursing Home Advocates Receives, reviews, and resolves complaints made by or on
behalf of residents of nursing homes or other long term care facilities. Volunteers perform the
bulk of the services provided by the program. After an initial training period devoted to
learning the rules and fundamentals, these volunteers, under the direction of a supervisor,
visit nursing homes and learn how to become investigators of complaints, problem-solvers,
