ESADE Intranet: Partners have access to the intranet by entering web
site, clicking on “intranet” and entering their codes provided by ESADE.
Deadlines: MBA Exchange announcement deadline is March for Fall, July for
Winter. Please bear in mind that most of the team is on holiday in August.

Study programme:
The ESADE MBA takes a globalist approach and is Bilingual. In the
Electives year, participants can choose from any of the 2nd year level
coursework, mostly in English. Additionally, participants who choose to
take Doing Business in Spanish will partake in a highly-participative
language course focused on business language and presentation skills
taught entirely in Spanish.

Faculties/Colleges: University. Law School. Executive Language Centre. Executive Education.
Professional Master’s Programs. (Marketing, Finance, Operations, Public
Administration, Tourism, etc.)
Language of Instruction: Mainly English
Language requirement: Admission to the Full-Time MBA requires demonstration of English
Proficiency, TOEFL or similar. There is no Spanish requirement for
exchange students.
Language courses: DBS - Doing Business in Spanish based on availability.
Academic/Experience
Requirements:
Applicants must be MBA and have completed core coursework
successfully to enrol in elective classes. Minimum 2 years relevant work
experience.
Full-time Workload: Please note that the courseload for exchange students is between 3-5
elective courses, with the normal workload being 4. It will not be
possible to take a courseload outside this range. Exchange students
will choose electives through a bidding system and changes to courses are
not permitted once the bidding system application has closed. We ask that

partner schools requiring that their students bid for certain courses
approve these requests before bidding takes place.
If exchange students wish to take Doing Business in Spanish (DBS) as
part of this workload, partner schools should approve this before bidding
takes place. DBS is a language course and not an MBA elective.
Learning Expectations: ESADE MBA courses are highly participative. Some classes are casestudy
based, others on quantitative models, etc. The overall philosophy is
cooperative and team-work oriented.
Grading: The grading system is on a scale of 0 to 10 points, in the following order:
From 9,0 to 10 Excellent
From 7,0 to 8,9 Distinction
From 5,0 to 6,9 Pass
From 0 to 4,9 Fail
Pendiente Not yet released
NP Incomplete
Official Transcripts are sent directly to coordinators.
If a student fails a class, it is his / her responsibility to contact the professor
to make up the coursework.
Exams: Exams are mainly written but not all courses have final exams. Some
require a paper, individual or group work, presentations etc.

MBA Calendar
Fall 2011 September 5th – December 20th
Orientation and Exams included.
A welcome lunch for everyone will take place the last week of
September with separate IT info sessions each week for students
arriving earlier in September.
Registration in April.
Winter 2012 January 9 th to March 23 rd (approx)
Orientation and Exams included.
Orientation the first week of term, date tbc.
Registration to be completed by the end of October.

Living Expenses: (all estimates
are based on an 18-month program)

ESADE does not have on campus housing.
Approx. 1,300 – 2,000 euros per month depending on individual
spending
Academic Expenses: Most materials are provided by the programme.
Other Expenses: Health insurance varies by company. The avg. is 45 euros / month.
Public language courses vary in duration and cost
(idiomas@esade.edu).
Local Transportation – bus pass (good for metro, bus, and local train
stops) 10 trips approx. 7 euros
Health insurance: It is mandatory that exchange participants must arrive with their
own health insurance that covers accidents, hospital, and
repatriation costs.
Visa: ESADE is required by the Spanish Government to include the city name
of the Embassy / Consulate. Students should contact the agency where
they plan to process their visas for the most updated information.
Facilities: Participants have access to the library, computer room, and computer
assistance. They can loan a LAN card with a 45 euro refundable
deposit upon return of the card in good working condition.

Student Services: MBASA (ESADE MBA Students Association) is a student-run
organisation dedicated to making the student transition and stay
enjoyable. In addition to matching you with a “Buddy”, the association
oversees various clubs such as, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing,
Graduate Women in Business, etc. mbasa@esade.edu
