Welcome New FSU Alumni!<br />
Today we welcome you into a proud fellowship – that of<br />
alumni of <strong>Frostburg</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> and the institutions that<br />
preceded it: <strong>Frostburg</strong> <strong>State</strong> College, <strong>Frostburg</strong> <strong>State</strong> Teacher’s<br />
College and <strong>State</strong> Normal School #2 at <strong>Frostburg</strong>. As other<br />
alumni will attest, with the education you have received here, the<br />
sky is the limit for you.<br />
Your success today is a credit to you and to the friends and<br />
family who have supported you along the way. But credit also<br />
belongs to many who said “yes” when you may have needed<br />
assistance during your FSU career – for the faculty and staff who<br />
guided your path, for those who funded scholarships to help you<br />
pay your way, for those who supported enrichment programs like<br />
the Sloop Leadership Institute, for those who volunteered to<br />
speak to you at the Career Expo, or for those who offered<br />
internships or other experiential learning that further enhanced<br />
your classroom preparation.<br />
Now is your chance to say “yes” in return. We urge you to<br />
remain connected to your alma mater; the FSU Alumni<br />
Association can help. The mission of the Alumni Association is<br />
“to unite graduates, former students, and friends of <strong>Frostburg</strong><br />
<strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> for mutual benefit and to promote the welfare<br />
and advance the interests of <strong>Frostburg</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>.”<br />
As alumni, you will be asked to help the students who follow<br />
you. You may be asked to donate, to volunteer or to facilitate<br />
internships. Just know that you will be enhancing a student’s life<br />
just as yours was. So please, say “yes.”<br />
