George Frideric Handel, who is said to have commented that as he wrote the<br />

music, “It was as if all heaven had been opened for me to see.”<br />

Tower Brass, <strong>Fourth</strong> <strong>Church</strong>’s brass octet, participates in 9:30 and 11:00 worship<br />

monthly during the academic year.<br />

Gifts to the One Great Hour <strong>of</strong> Sharing Offering support Chicago Lights Tutoring and<br />

the Elam Davies Social Service Center as well as <strong>Presbyterian</strong> Disaster Assistance,<br />

the <strong>Presbyterian</strong> Hunger Program, and the <strong>Presbyterian</strong> Self-Development <strong>of</strong><br />

People Program. Gifts can be made by using the envelopes in the pew racks or by<br />

writing “One Great Hour” on the memo line <strong>of</strong> a check made payable to <strong>Fourth</strong><br />

<strong>Presbyterian</strong> <strong>Church</strong>.<br />

The calla lily on the <strong>bulletin</strong> cover was photographed in the sanctuary for the inaugural<br />

cover <strong>of</strong> this <strong>bulletin</strong>-cover style, which debuted on Easter Sunday 2009. The cover<br />

quote is from William Sloane C<strong>of</strong>fin’s Collected Sermons: The Riverside Years.<br />
