Washington Conference<br />

welcomed Archie<br />

Harris as the newest education<br />

department team me<strong>mb</strong>er in<br />

Nove<strong>mb</strong>er 2012.<br />

Harris will be serving as<br />

associate superintendent and<br />

replaces Paulette Jackson, who<br />

is the new education registrar<br />

for the North Pacific Union<br />

Conference in Ridgefield, Wash.<br />

Harris begins his position full<br />

time in February.<br />

“We are looking forward to<br />

all the contributions Archie will<br />

bring to our team,” says Kelly<br />

Bock, Washington Conference<br />

vice president for education.<br />

“We know you will enjoy<br />

getting to know him as we all<br />

work together to educate our<br />

children.”<br />

Washington Conference<br />

is offering new online<br />

prayer resources including<br />

a newly launched website at<br />

adventistprayerministry.<strong>org</strong><br />

and an active Facebook prayer<br />

group.<br />

These prayer initiatives<br />

are being coordinated by<br />

Washington Conference’s new<br />

prayer and spiritual growth<br />

coordinator, Kevin Wilfley,<br />

who also serves as pastor of<br />

the Enumclaw Church.<br />

“I prayed for many years<br />

for God to bring us the right<br />

person to lead our prayer<br />

and spiritual growth department,”<br />

says John Freedman,<br />

Welcomes Archie Harris<br />

Harris is no stranger to<br />

the Pacific Northwest, as<br />

this is where he was born,<br />

raised and educated. He has<br />

elementary and secondary<br />

teaching experience in Upper<br />

Colu<strong>mb</strong>ia and Montana<br />

conferences. For the last six<br />

and a half years, Harris served<br />

as director of education, youth,<br />

communication and health for<br />

Montana Conference.<br />

Harris and his high school<br />

sweetheart, Deanna, have been<br />

Washington Conference education leaders are committed to<br />

nurturing and supporting 20 learning campuses in western<br />

Washington where 1,342 students learn academic and spiritual<br />

growth lessons.<br />

Connection authored by Wilfley<br />

offer biblical thoughts and<br />

user-friendly, has real stories<br />

of ordinary people and is a<br />

faith-building tool that you<br />

can use every day,” says Carmen<br />

Slavens, a website visitor.<br />

“This is a great resource.”<br />

A calendar of events has<br />

information about upcoming<br />

spiritual growth seminars,<br />

retreats and days of prayer<br />

while the Good Stuff link has<br />

study guides to help visitors<br />

with their prayer lives.<br />

“Hundreds of people all<br />

over the world are connecting<br />

with one another in prayer by<br />

means of the Internet,” says<br />

Wilfley.<br />

leave prayer requests or offer<br />

a prayer for someone else.<br />
