<strong>BASEFIX</strong> <strong>790</strong><br />
DESCRIPTION:<br />
Basefix <strong>790</strong> is a ready to spray clear sealer for various applications with basecoat/<br />
clearcoat systems and sensitive substrates. Its uses are:<br />
A. A fast drying clear for door jambs and interior parts.<br />
B. A clear insulating coat on sanded through areas.<br />
PRODUCT: Basefix <strong>790</strong><br />
REDUCERS: —Autocryl Reducer Fast: a fast flash reducer suitable for spot and panel repairs.<br />
Temperature ranges from 60°–75°F (16°–24°C).<br />
—Autocryl Reducer Medium: a medium temperature reducer for spot and panel<br />
repairs, also for larger areas. Temperature ranges from 70°–85°F (20°–30°C).<br />
—Sikkens Reducer SRA 7.0: a specially formulated solvent for spot repairs. May<br />
also be used in Basefix <strong>790</strong> at all temperature levels.<br />

A. Autobase ® Plus, after a flash-off time of 15 to 20 minutes (only for interior parts<br />
not exposed to direct sunlight).<br />
B. All existing finishes including lacquer after degreasing and sanding with #P500<br />
grit dry or #P800 grit wet (the fade out area must be scuffed with a grey scuffing<br />
pad). Any Sikkens primer surfacer after sanding with #P500 grit paper dry or<br />
#P800 grit wet.<br />
The application method and mixing ratio are dependent on the specific use of the<br />
product. Select the usage that is best for the job from A, or B or below, and follow<br />
the appropriate instructions:<br />

Application Method: Apply one or two<br />
single coats of Basefix <strong>790</strong> with adequate<br />
flash-off time at least 3–5 minutes at 70°F<br />
(20°C). After the last coat is applied, allow<br />
15–20 minutes flash off time at 70°F (20°C)<br />
before proceeding with light coats of<br />
Autobase Plus. The Autobase Plus spot<br />
repair should stay within the area that is<br />
sealed with Basefix <strong>790</strong>.
