Tournament with an ACC-leading 14 appearances<br />
in the Big Dance.<br />
<strong>Duke</strong> sits alone atop the list of most NCAA<br />
Tournament Appearances by ACC schools.<br />
<strong>Duke</strong>’s nine NCAA Tournament wins are the<br />
second most in the conference behind Georgia<br />
Tech.<br />
When <strong>Duke</strong> defeated South Carolina, 3-1 in<br />
the 1984 tournament, it was not only the program’s<br />
first NCAA Tournament victory, but the<br />
ACC’s, as well.<br />
<strong>Duke</strong> head coach Jolene Nagel has seven NCAA<br />
Tournament appearances in 10 seasons at the<br />
helm of the Blue Devils, including second round<br />
appearances in each of the last four seasons. Her<br />
seven appearances rank tied for the most by a<br />
coach in ACC history.<br />
<strong>Duke</strong>’s run in the 1993 NCAA Tournament marked<br />
the ACC’s first appearance in the Elite Eight and is<br />
one of just two league appearances that deep in the<br />
tournament.<br />
