Support Bureau – Assistant Chief Preston Becker
The Support Bureau was created this past year. The Bureau encompasses two divisions, the Criminal
Investigation and Special Operation Divisions. Under the current organizational structure, the
Assistant Chief of this Bureau and the two division commanders oversee the operations of the criminal
investigators, advocacy center, special events, traffic and motor officers and emergency response units.
Criminal Investigations Division – Commander Greg Dominguez
The Criminal Investigations Division oversees the operations of the Advocacy Center,
Criminal Investigation and Special Investigations Units. A lieutenant is assigned to
supervise each unit.
Special Operations Division – Commander Matthew Lively
The Special Operations Division oversees the operations of the Emergency Response
Unit, the Special Events Unit, Mega Events Planning Unit and the Traffic Unit. This is a
new division and incorporates the specialized units that are responsible for the mega
events planning, security staffing, the unified command center, bomb squad, SWAT,
canine officers, homeland security intelligence and the traffic enforcement officers.
Administration Bureau –Assistant Director Brent Ackzen
The Administration Bureau is responsible for the operations of the Administrative Services Division and
the Technical Services Division. The Director also supervises employees assigned to the budget, grants
and quality assurance units.
Administrative Services Division – Commander John Krystek
The Administrative Services Division is managed by a commander and includes the
training unit, personnel management, accreditation, volunteer services, community
services and municipal security.
Technical Services Division – Commander Denny Bennett
The Technical Services Division is managed by a non-sworn commander and consists of
the communications, records, callback, property and detention units.
