7. HANDLING AND STORAGE<br />

Handling: Avoid breathing vapours and mists. Avoid direct or prolonged contact with skin and eyes.<br />

Ethylene oxide may collect in container head space. Although concentrations are expected to remain<br />

below established exposure limits, provide adequate ventilation when accessing or working with open<br />

containers and tanks.<br />

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers. Store in an area that is dry, well-ventilated, away from<br />

ignition sources, and away from incompatible materials (see Section 10: Stability and Reactivity).<br />

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION<br />

spray wear PVC or rubber apron, elbow length PVC gloves and face shield. When using the prepared<br />

spray wear face shield. If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. After use and<br />

before eating, drinking and smoking, wash hands, arms and face thoroughly with soap and water.<br />

After each day’s use, wash gloves, face-shield and contaminated clothing.<br />

Work Practice Controls: Personal hygiene is an important work practice exposure control measure<br />

and the following general measures should be taken when working with or handling this material.<br />

1. Do not store, use, and/or consume food, beverages, tobacco products, or cosmetics in area<br />

dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler<br />

or designated collection point.<br />

If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no<br />

landfill is available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up<br />

for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product<br />

should not be burnt.<br />

14. STORAGE & TRANSPORT INFORMATION<br />

Storage: Store in original container, tightly sealed, in a safe place away from seeds, fungicidal and<br />

insecticidal sprays or fertilisers so that cross contamination cannot occur.<br />
