A. Was sent by John Furtado, <strong>EATA</strong> Treasurer<br />

B. Mary MZ sent out the Budget to Delegates during <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Call</strong>-<br />

1. Total budget for the <strong>Student</strong> Program $6575.00<br />

2. 200$ has been approved by the <strong>EATA</strong> Board for grass roots efforts within the above<br />

budget<br />

C. Chris Giacchino is the incoming Treasurer and will take over this responsibility<br />

III. <strong>EATA</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Program 2011:<br />

A. Schedule Overview (Mollie-Jean, <strong>Student</strong> Program Choir):<br />

-all speakers confirmed!!<br />

1. Friday Night<br />

a. Registration - 4:00-8:00PM (added an extra hour this year)<br />

b. Quiz bowl – 8:00-10:00PM<br />

c. <strong>Student</strong> Social<br />

- to follow Quiz Bowl<br />

- non-alcoholic beverages and dessert items<br />

- Hall of Famers to receive an invitation to this<br />

2. Saturday<br />

a. Program<br />

-Continental breakfast 7:30-8AM<br />

-Welcome Address<br />

-Evolution of ACL reconstruction<br />

- Graston Lecture (corresponding workshop Sunday)<br />

- Aquatic therapy<br />

- Wii Rehab<br />

-Keynote Address before lunch<br />

c. Exhibit Hall 1-3:00PM (Special student times with presentations by Exhibits<br />

d. Research projects presenting 1:00-3:00PM<br />

a. Workshops (the attendees will be in 2 groups and will rotate to both<br />

presentations)-

B. Keynote Speaker: Dr./ Dean Charles J. Redmond (NATA & ATOM Hall of Fame)<br />

C. Professional Sports Donations (Mary)<br />

1. Typical Donations for raffle comes from Exhibitors--Bob O’Malley is the <strong>EATA</strong> Chair who<br />

gets these for us<br />

2. Last year we sent a letter to Pro AT’s because the economy limited how many raffle<br />

prizes we received. The response was outstanding. Should we do this again this year?<br />

2. Question was raised: Do we have a silent auction for some of the items from the pro<br />

AT’s and use the funds for a “special designation”?<br />

a. -Maybe not do with students? Maybe do with <strong>EATA</strong><br />

b.-If we do make money what would we put the money toward?<br />

- toward a scholarship of some type?<br />

-charitable contribution?<br />

-Need money to form a scholarship? How do we do a scholarship?<br />

-Mary will email Steve Bair to find out more info on this which will help us<br />

decide what do with the $$<br />

D. Review of timeline for past <strong>Conference</strong>s (<strong>Conference</strong> transportation, housing/rooming,<br />

general questions, etc) (Mary)<br />

1. When Delegates register online check the box (0.00$)- speaker, board members and<br />

comp. registration<br />

2. Mary will ask you who you want to room with in October<br />

3. Reimbursement<br />

a. Transportation is covered, Mary will let us know if Delegates arrange their own<br />

travel or the <strong>EATA</strong> Past-Pres. Will do this<br />

b. Most of food is with conference<br />

c. Reimbursement guidelines are written up in <strong>Delegation</strong> Manual<br />

d. Get reimbursement forms from district treasurer<br />

e. <strong>Delegation</strong> Board Officers will need to be in Philadelphia on Thursday night so<br />

they can be at <strong>EATA</strong> Board Meeting Friday AM. Remaining Delegates come in<br />

Friday AM/early afternoon<br />

4. Delegate Responsibilities:<br />

a. Moderators for Speakers<br />

b. Help make things run smoothly<br />

c. Registration<br />

IV. Grass Roots Effort<br />

A. March 2011(Athletic Training Month)<br />

1. What do we want to do?


a. Last year we had students in Curriculum Programs collect signatures from who<br />

they educated about Personal Training versus Athletic Training<br />

b. Do we want to do the same thing this year but on a different topic?<br />

-Concussions<br />

-Sickle Cell Anemia<br />

V. Old Business<br />

A. Website/facebook- working on some defective links<br />

B. Link for HS students to find any school in America that has an accredited program<br />

1. Also a source for students asking questions<br />

VI. New Business<br />

A. Twitter? – Mike and Shawn are going to work on this<br />

VII. Next <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>Call</strong><br />

A. In about 6 weeks<br />

VIII. Closing Remarks<br />

A. Mary will let us know about arranging travel and the implications of trying to start a<br />

scholarship<br />

B. Delegates can think about what they would like to do with funds if we have a silent auction<br />

C -Mike and Shawn will let us know about setting up tweeting<br />
