Detail Technical Specification :
[1] FINE RIVER SAND ;
Sand should be natural sand, clean, well graded, hard strong durable and gritty particle free
from injurious amounts of dust clay, kankar nodules, soft or flaky particles shale, alkali, salts
organic matter, loam, mica or other deleterious substance and shall be got approved from
the Engineer-in-charge. The sand should not contain more that 8 percent of silt as
determined by field test. If necessary the sand should be washed to make it clean.
Fine Sand: The fineness modulus shall not exceed 1.0 mm. The sieve analysis of fine sand
shall be as under:

1. Metal/Grit should consist of crushed or broken stone and be hard strong, dense,
durable, clean, of proper gradation and free from skin or coating likely to prevent
adhesion of mortar Metal/Grit shall generally be cubical in shape and as far as
possible flaky pieces shall be avoided. It should generally comply with the provisions
of I.S. 383-1970. Unless special stone of particular quarries is mentioned, grit should
be obtained from the best black trap or equivalent hard stone as approved by the
Engineer-in-charge. The grit should have no deleterious reaction with cement.

2. The grit should conform to the following gradation as per sieve analysis :

3. The crushing strength of grit will be such as to allow the concrete in which it is used to
built up the specified strength of concrete.
The necessary tests for grit shall carried out as per the requirements of I.S.2386 (Parts I
to VII) 1963, as per instructions of the Engineer-in-charge. The necessity of test will be
decided by the Engineer-in-charge.
[3] BRICKS FLY ASH :
Brick Fly Ash/clay Bricks having crushing strength not less than 35/50 Kg./Sq cm.
The bricks should be hand or machine molded and made from suitable soils and klin-burnt.
They shall be free from crack and nodules of free lime. They shall have smooth rectangular
faces with sharp corners and shall be of uniform color.
The bricks should be molded with a frog of 100 mm. X 40 mm. And 10 mm. To 20 mm. Deep
on one of its flat sides. The bricks should not break when thrown on the ground from a height
of 600 mm.
The size of the conventional bricks should be as under :
(9” x 4 ⅜ “x 2 ¾ “) 225 x 110 x 75 mm.
Only bricks of one standard size should be used on one work. The following tolerances
should be permitted in the conventional size adopted in a particular work.
Length: 1.8(3.0 mm.), Width: 1/6” (1.51 mm.), Height: 1/6” (1.50 mm.)
The crushing strength of the bricks should not be less than 35 / 50 Kg. /Sq. Cm. The average
water absorption should not be more than 20 percent by weight. Necessary tests for crushing
strength and water absorption etc. should be carried out as per I. S. 3495 (Part-I to IV) 1976.

(5) As per GSECL policy, Insurance charge will be considered as Nil for the order value
below 50 Lacs.
(6) If any deviation in your offer with respect to Tender specification, Please clearly
mention on separate deviation sheet otherwise we will consider your offer is
exactly as per our Enquiry / Tender specification.
(7) GSECL reserves right to place the order on technically qualified bidders for item wise /
individual lowest quoted party.
(8) Please furnish copy of the orders executed by you for GSECL and / or other state
Electricity Board, NTPC or other reputed organization etc. for subjected items.
(9) It is to be noted that GSECL, Ukai TPS is establishing and implementing occupational
Health & Safety Management System complying with OHSAS 18001:2007. You as a
part of the GSECL Ukai team and as defined by the scope of mentioned standard, all
contractors are required to comply with and participate to prevent the occupational
Health and Safety hazards and risks including observation of safety rules. Further you
are also to comply with all applicable legal requirements while executing the supply /
work, in case the job is assigned to you.
(10) Any delay that may take place in supply and / or erection, testing and commissioning
activities beyond contractual cut off date / stipulated period in the order shall be
subjected to penalty (not liquidated damages) at the rate of ½ % of the contract price /
order price per week or part thereof subject to a maximum of 10 % of the total contract
value / order value (i.e. End cost including taxes & duties).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS :
(1) Please submit your offer in duplicate.
(2) Party has to accept Payment Term as per GSECL’s standard terms & conditions:
“Payment shall be made by the GSECL for the material supplied at 80% plus 100 %
taxes against TRC within 30 days and balance 20 % against S. R. Note within 45 days
from the date of receipt of material at our site.”
(3) Validity of Rates: 120 days from the date of opening of Technical Bid.
(Minimum 120 Days are Compulsory required.
(4) Delivery Period: Delivery Period: Within 01 Month.
(5) Please note that conditionally offers will liable to be ignored.
(6) Bidder has to submit Certificate “A” and Integrity Pact with the seal of firm & signature
of Tenderer.
(7) Please furnish your Address, Phone Number, Fax Number, E-mail ID, TIN Number,
PAN Number and Signature of the party with company's Seal along with your offer.

Clause No.1 to 83) of GSECL, UKAI, TPS and accordingly submitted my / our offer. ”
Party can give acceptance of close no. 1 to 83 on a single paper Instead of all 46 pages.
However if any technical deviation is there then party has to submit technical deviation on
page 36 of this 46 page.
