Features
This battery charger contains a temperature sensitive switch that
automatically shuts the charger off in the event of overload or
excessive high temperature. The unit will switch back on after a
cooling period.
This charger IS NOT suitable for continuous charging or
trickle charging.
Incorrect polarity or short circuit will cause the ammeter needle to
swing back and forth. Immediately disconnect the charger from the
mains supply and remove terminal clamps.
Monitor charging procedure
Operation for Charging (NOT AUTOMATIC)
1. Disconnect the battery according to the Manufacturers instruction.
2. Check the levels of electrolyte and top up if necessary (This must
cover the plates in the individual cells).
3. Make sure battery charged is NOT plugged into mains socket.
4. Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal (+) of the battery
and then the black clamp to the negative terminal (-) (If charging
battery that is still connected to the vehicle make sure the first
charging cable IS NOT connected to the vehicle chassis.
Make the next connection to the chassis at a location away from
the battery and fuel line)
5. Connect the charger to the power socket, turn the charger ON
and check the needle on the ammeter.
6. Charging current is displayed on the ammeter.
(Note: There may be no indication if the battery is fully charged)
7. The needle will fluctuate during charging until it reaches a
constant value in the black section (though this may not reach
the far left hand mark).
8. Once charging is complete, switch off the unit and remove the
power plug from the mains.
9. Remove the terminal clamps from the battery (if in situ on the
vehicle remove the connection on the chassis first).
10. Re-tighten battery cell plugs.
