The Amazing Race June 23-28 Entering Grades: 6-8 Cost: $325 You’ve seen it on TV; now you can actually do it at camp this summer! You and your team will work together to meet challenges and conquer road blocks as you race to six countries in camp. Among other things, your road blocks might include climbing, raft building, letterboxing, archery, canoeing, and kayaking. You’ll earn points as you complete the road block in each country before heading into the last leg of the race. Enjoy non-stop adventure, excitement and suspense until the very end! Adventure Sports Plus June 23-28 Entering Grades: 6-9 Cost: $345 If you have participated in an Adventure Sports session in the past, this is your chance to experience a whole new level of excitement and intensity. After warming up on the decidupelling tree and Tweedale’s rock face, you will head to Delaware for a day of rock climbing. You’ll also tackle a multi-level fitness trail in Nottingham, perfect your archery skills, and spend the night in an overnight shelter that you build from scratch. Are you up for the challenge? Kayak Quest June 23-28 Entering Grades: 6-9 Cost: $330 If you have kayaked or canoed at camp in the past and are ready for a new adventure, check this out! You’ll brush up on your kayaking skills at camp for a few days, pack a lunch, and head out on a day long trip down the Brandywine River. Don’t forget to pack the sunblock! * See swimming prerequisites (page 3). River Riders June 23-28 Entering Grades: 6-9 Cost: $350 Spend time on the reservoir working on your paddling skills and learning to work together as a team. Then head to the Brandywine River where you’ll be outfitted with an inner tube to float down the river for one day. You’ll finish your trip on the Brandywine the second day by canoe, navigating your way toward Delaware! Canoe Attack June 30 - July 5 Entering Grades: 4-6 Cost: $320 Watch out! Whether you are an experienced canoeist or a total novice, a “canoe attack” can happen at any time. Learn basic skills and correct paddling techniques, then demonstrate your canoe mastery on the Octorara Reservoir, where you’ll paddle out to the Point and spend the night under the stars. Adventure Sports June 30 - July 5 Entering Grades: 5-7 Cost: $320 Taste the thrill of new adventures! Skim across the lake in a kayak and work with your group to get through the “spider’s web.” Create an obstacle course, hike to the covered bridge, and sleep under the stars at the Point. Best of all, try your hand at decidupelling on-site, and, when you are ready, move on to climbing Tweedale’s rock face. * See swimming prerequisites (page 3). Highlights of Harry June 30 - July 5 Entering Grades: 5-9 Cost: $335 Be sorted into houses by the Sorting Hat. Then choose your adventures from the following: hunt for the horcrux, compete in Quidditch, create an item for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, hunt down and fight a dragon , participate in Magical Creatures class , earn wizard money to shop in Hogsmeade, create a Harry Potter cookbook, re-sit your OWL exams, and many others. Relive the favorite parts of previous Harry Potter camps! Canyak July 7-12 Entering Grades: 4-7 Cost: $320 Can’t decide if you’d rather canoe or kayak? Spend your week doing both! Learn or brush up on your paddling, and enjoy a floating lunch. Clue! July 7-12 Entering Grades: 6-8 Cost: $320 Professor Plum did it in the library with a candlestick! No! The Waterfront Director did it in the dining hall with a canoe paddle! No! Join us for week of mystery and intrigue as you try to be the first team to figure out who dun it! You’ll need your detective skills and a sharp eye to be hot on the trail of the culprit! Water Lovers July 7-12 Entering Grades: 6-8 Cost: $355 Spend most of your week wet... explore during a creek walk, munch a floating lunch on the reservoir, paddle your canoe into the sunset , investigate the ecosystem of the lake, and float down the Brandywine on an inner tube. Bring your sunblock! Art Emporium July 14-19 Entering Grades: 4-6 Cost: $330 Let your creative juices flow as you have the opportunity to explore marbling, mosaics, printing processes, paper mache, candle making, painting, basketry, and weaving. You will choose the media you want to work with, and complete at least 3 different projects to take home. If you are a budding artist, this is the program for you! Water World July 14-19 Entering Grades: 4-6 Cost: $320 Is water your favorite place to be? This program includes everything from canoeing and kayaking to synchronized swimming and a water carnival! Greet the dawn with a Polar Bear swim, explore the water cycle, play water polo, check out life at the creek, go for a twilight swim, and enjoy a leisurely paddle during a floating lunch. Double Adventure July 14-19 Entering Grades: 5-7 Cost: $370 Warm up on the Tweedale decidupelling tree on Monday, and then spend a night at Camp Tohikanee where you will challenge yourself on the low and high ropes courses. Continue your adventure on a tube as you float down the Delaware River for an afternoon of fun! Pampered Camper July 14-19 Entering Grades: 6-8 Cost: $340 Spend a week at our “camp spa” in the Hill Program Center! Do facials, pedicures and manicures. Learn about homemade recipes for everything from make-up to toothpaste. Create an individualized diet and exercise program that is just perfect for you, and experiment with yoga and relaxation techniques. Take a look at what is beautiful on the inside and learn tips for loving who you are, inside and out. It’s all about YOU! Tweedale Survivor July 14-19 Entering grades: 6-8 Cost: $325 Meet your tribe and elect a leader, decide which challenges to do and in what order. Challenges may include art, boating, swimming, archery, land sports, brain teasers, decidupelling, and more - who will be the tribe standing tall at the Tribal Council on Friday? Endangered Species July 21-26 Entering Grades: 4-6 Cost: $350 Manateea, pandas, and cheetahs. What do these animals have in common? They’re all endangered animals in our world! In this program you’ll learn about why some animal species are vanishing, and how to balance the needs of people and wildlife. With your group, travel to the Philadelphia Zoo to choose an animal for Camp Tweedale to adopt. You’ll be the proud parent of a zoo animal! Rockin’ Room Makeover July 21-26 Entering Grades: 4-6 Cost: $328 Spend your week creating items and crafts you can use to decorate your room. Make a glow in the dark light switch cover, a pillow for your bed, and a bulletin board to display your pictures from camp. Paddles & Pedals July 21-26 Entering Grades: 5-7 Cost: $330 Bring your geared bike to camp and spend your week biking and canoeing! Campers will take several bike trips on local roads, including a ride to the Herr’s Factory where you’ll end your factory tour with your favorite snacks!
