Gomma ’ s layout has been changed and improved to give the viewer a more rewarding experience.
With 25 photographers ’ portfolios, a 48-page section entirely dedicated to B/W and a showcase of
promising talents, Gomma Magazine Issue T wo remains 100% photographic and without advertising.
Daido Moriyama, Stephen Gill, Michelle Sank and H iroshi W atanabe are just some of the names
featured in this issue alongside exclusive interview s with Antoine d’Agata and controversial Russian
Particular attention is given to emerging internation a l talents, such as the fresh and explicit Japanese
slices of Italian reality reminiscent of early Wolfgang Tillmans’ work) and interesting reportages
by Ami V itale and T imothy Fadek from the USA.
Gomma Magazine Issue T wo will be available in selected libraries and bookshops throughout the UK
and Europe from April 2006 at a cover price of £10 (GBP) and €12 (Europe) and is distributed
Gomma Magazine is an independent magazine cre a ted by a team of professional photographers and
visual artists based mainly in London. The team launched the first Gomma Magazine in 2005 taking
inspiration from Provoke Magazine and Permane n t Food. They wanted to generate a new space,
entirely dedicated to photography and without the u s e of text and advertising.
“Strangely fluid in a disjointed kind of wa y . A parody of situations which are humorous and tragic all at
once", said Karen Harvey from T otal Image Nation d escribing the first issue.
The aim is to promote photography as a powerful t o ol to represent the world we live in.
“Gomma is a photographic journey to chew with yo u r eyes” says Editor Luca Desienna.
Gomma ’ s homepage, ww w .gommamag.com, has b ecome an important reference, not only for the
photographic world, but also for the visual arts an d t he design communit y . It attracts on average
30,000 visitors per month.
