Meet the instructors
Pip Gordon
Pip Gordon is a professional lighting and set designer who
brings high energy and expertise to the Entertainment Design
Technology program and the Orpheum Theater Center.
She is a native of New Zealand and has been
practicing theater for the last 30 years in the U.S. She has
designed over 220 productions for theaters across the
country including Actors Theater of Louisville, Minneapolis
Childrenʼs Theater, Iowa Public Television, West Coast
Playwrights San Francisco, University of Texas at Austin,
University of Iowa, Ihrig Productions - Las Vegas, the University
of Northern Iowa, Auburn University and Grinnell
College.
Pip has worked with internationally renowned playwrights
and directors including Bob Balaban, Jon Jory, Arthur
Kopit, Naiome Wallace, Naiom Izuka and Tazewell Thompson.
She has assisted Broadway designers Marc Wiess,
Craig Miller and Susan White.
Chris Winnemann
Chris Winnemann brings a very specialized skill set to the
Entertainment Design Technology program in advanced
scenic and prop construction, scenic and lighting motors
and rigging systems, lighing technology and control systems,
stage projection, computer control systems and moving
light technology.
Chris is a native of Wisconsin where he received his bachelor
in fine arts degree in technical direction from Viterbo
University. He has worked for Arizona Theater Company
and Texas Shakespeare Company as an assistant technical
director. Before coming to MCC, he was the technical
director for Auburn University Theater Department.
