The Amsterdam Lions Club will hold its regular
meeting at Bosco’s Restaurant at 3:30 p.m. All members
are urged to be present. Final plans will be
made for the party for the visually handicapped,
which will be held Saturday at noon at Nicolino’s
Restaurant on Route 30 in Perth. Santa will be
there.
AMSTERDAM
The NAMI/MFH Support Group will hold its
Christmas party and annual meeting at the Riverfront
Center Mall, Suite 2414, at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome
to join the support group for food, dessert and

St. Mary’s Healthcare Auxiliary will hold its
Christmas party at St. Mary’s Healthcare Cafeteria,

PERTH
The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of
Commerce will hold a holiday business after hours
from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Perthshire, 112 Perthshire
Drive, hosted by Bouchey & Clark Benefits Inc.
There will be hors d’oeuvres served and beverages
available. There is no charge for chamber members,
but there is a $10 admission fee for future members.

JOHNSTOWN
An evening immunization clinic will be held at
the Fulton County Public Health Office from 3:30
to 6 p.m. Parents should remember to bring their
children’s Social Security number. The fee for children
age birth to 18 is $2 per immunization.
Students with a college ID will be charged $2 for
MMR and the current market cost for tetanus. Call

JOHNSTOWN
The Fulton-Montgomery Community College
Musicians Club will sponsor a talent show from 6:30
to 8:30 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge; $3 with student
ID. Proceeds are going to the United Way.

Jubilee Fellowship at 349 Forest Ave. is having a
Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Special guests will be
the Amsterdam High School chorus. Amsterdam
native Dan Ryczek will be the featured soloist and
will also lead attendees in the singing of Christmas
carols.

Abook sale fundraiser will be held at the
Galway Public Library. The sale runs from 1 to 6
p.m. Members of the Friends of the Galway Public
Library may start shopping at 12:30 p.m. Non-members
join the group for $5 and get a free book. On
Saturday, sale hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The
library is located in the village of Galway at 5264

The Healing Touch Practice Group will meet at
St. Mary’s Healthcare Carondelet Pavilion
Auditorium, 380 Guy Park Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. It’s open to all Healing Touch students,

The Canajoharie Library’s seventh annual holiday
arts and craft fair will run from 11 a.m. to 4

The St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church,
located at 24 Pulaski St., will have its annual
Christmas bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The
event will feature varenyky (pierogi), holubtsi
(golumki), kovbasa, sauerkraut, borshch and
home-made pastries. Ukrainian folk art will also be
on display.
GALWAY
The Galway United Methodist Church, at the corner
of Galway-Ballston Road and Route 147, will hold
its 20th annual holiday cookie sale. The public is invited
to purchase a variety of homemade holiday cookies
and treats at $8 per pound. The sale will begin at
10 a.m. and will continue until sold out. Various craft
items will also be available for purchase.

annual holiday concert Tuesday. Horton was misidentified in a
photo published in The Recorder Wednesday.

Conference plans banquet, cantata
BROADALBIN — Christmas will come early to Sacandaga Bible
Conference as the Christian camp and retreat center hosts A
Sacandaga Christmas, the camp’s annual Christmas banquet and
free cantata Saturday.
The cantata, “The Star Still Shines,” by Claire Cloninger and
Robert Sterling, will be performed at Arthur Johnston Lodge at 7
p.m.
Refreshments will be served after the performance.
The banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilltop Dining Hall.
The menu will include ham and a carved steamship round, along
with several festive side dishes.
There is no cost to attend the cantata.
The price for the banquet is $12 ($10 ages 7-11, $8 ages 3-6),
and reservations are encouraged.

Cat food drive set for Saturday
TOWN OF AMSTERDAM — The Feline Guardian Angels will
host a dry and canned cat food drive on Saturday at Country
Feed on Route 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All donated food will be distributed to feral cat colony caregivers
in the local area.
Also during this event, an FGA representative will sell
“Christmas for the Kitties” 50/50 raffle tickets. Prices are seven
tickets for $5 or one ticket for $1.
The drawing will take place Dec. 18 at 9:15 a.m. and will be
broadcast on WCSS 1490-AM. The winner will be announced on
the air during that time.
Half of the proceeds from the raffle will be retained by FGA to
be used to help offset the cost of spaying or neutering feral cats
in the area.
