Founders' Scholarship Program primarily<br />
as a way 10 honor the skilled.<br />
dedica ted wiremen and linemen who<br />
o rganized the <strong>Brotherhood</strong> in November<br />
1891. The <strong>IBE</strong>W <strong>of</strong>fers ils members<br />
a maximum <strong>of</strong> 12 scholarships for<br />
university study leading to bachelor's<br />
degrees in fields cOlllribulive 10 the<br />
development and improvement <strong>of</strong> the<br />
e1ecrrical induslry. Awards are granted<br />
annually on a competitive basis [Q candidates<br />
from all branches <strong>of</strong> the union,<br />
in a ratio <strong>of</strong> one scholarship for every<br />
25 qualified applicants or major fraction<br />
there<strong>of</strong>.<br />

and SA T or ACT scores. and an<br />
essay describing the benefits <strong>of</strong> the<br />
scholarship program for the <strong>Brotherhood</strong><br />
and the electrical indus try.<br />

Valley College; in 1988 he received<br />
the EleClricians' Certificale with<br />
High Honors from Rock Valley<br />
College. He is married and has one<br />
