1.5 Hairs and Spines<br />
1.5.1 In general, botanical terms <strong>for</strong> types <strong>of</strong> hair and spine (e.g. aculeate, lanate, tomentose,<br />
etc.) are not used in <strong>the</strong> Test Guidelines, since <strong>the</strong> states <strong>of</strong> expression are likely to relate to<br />
number, density or length <strong>of</strong> hairs, spines, etc.<br />
1.5.2 In <strong>the</strong> case <strong>of</strong> hair, <strong>the</strong> term “pubescence” is synonymous with “hairiness” <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
purposes <strong>of</strong> Test Guidelines.
