Objectives:<br />
The main objective of this assignment is to undertake feasibility of water supply for drinking and<br />
irrigation purposes, and develop a detail climate smart re-settlement plan to relocate Dheye communities<br />
in Thangchung of Upper Mustang.<br />

Preparation of plan of action with detailed framework of activities, criteria, schedule etc, to be<br />
agreed with <strong>Hariyo</strong> <strong>Ban</strong> <strong>Program</strong><br />
Desk top study to review relevant literature and other available information on water availability,<br />
land tenure, climate and non-climatic impacts and settlement patterns with demography and<br />
culture<br />
Prepare an inception report based on the available literature, agree on the methodology and make<br />
common understanding with <strong>Hariyo</strong> <strong>Ban</strong> core team<br />
Field visit and consultation with local communities at Dheye and other concerned stakeholders<br />
including government line agencies in the District<br />
Undertake water feasibility for drinking and irrigation purposes<br />
GIS mapping of the proposed sites<br />
Prepare detailed plan with clear sketches on type of infrastructure/land use proposed to develop a<br />
climate smart settlement in Thangchung<br />
Consultative meeting to sharing outputs at landscape and national levels<br />
Expected outputs:<br />
• Analysis of demography of population affected by climate change in Dheye village documented<br />
• Perception of community as well as GoN authorities on the existing Dheye situation and planned<br />
actions mapped and analysed based on the existing vulnerability assessment.<br />
• Detailed geographical information on proposed relocation site (Thangchung) studied and<br />
• documented<br />
• On-going development activities in the proposed resettlement site documented<br />
• Land tenure situation in proposed site analysed and recommendations made<br />
• Feasibility of proposed resettlement site studied in light of current conditions and likely future<br />
climate impacts<br />
• Feasibility study on water supply for drinking and irrigation purposes<br />
• Design of houses (local context specific) with costs<br />
• Land-use plan of resettlement area<br />
• Detailed climate smart settlement plan with estimate budget<br />
5. Deliverables<br />
The deliverables of the study are:<br />
• Inception report including detailed plan of action with detailed frame work activities,<br />
methodology to be applied, schedule etc<br />
• Draft report on feasibility study of water supply and resettlement plan<br />
• Final report incorporating comments and suggestions given by <strong>Hariyo</strong> <strong>Ban</strong> team<br />
• Other relevant maps, GIS layers, photographs, negatives and other relevant documents procured<br />
or produced under this contract, in digital and/or hard copy as appropriate, with related analysis,<br />
model, and diagrams<br />
