and Bear) for a fun hour of learning how to create your very<br />
own caricature drawings. Bring a pen and notepad (or some<br />
art supplies for hands-on experience!) and learn the basics<br />

Wonder which is better, self publishing or going with a traditional<br />
publisher? We’ll examine the advantages and disadvantages<br />
of each and how to take the next step in your publishing<br />
career. We’ll take a look at how to evaluate publishers, and<br />
anticipating problems before you sign anything. We’ll also discuss<br />
the costs of self-publishing and how not to get taken for a<br />

BEOWULF: AUDIENCE<br />
PARTICIPATION WORKSHOP!<br />
This is a poetry workshop in which experienced, professional<br />
poet Mark Miner will take the group through the<br />
pounding, driving rhythms and diverse characters of<br />
Beowulf. Someone will get to dress up in Anglo-Saxon garb.<br />
Dual-language scripts will be available, so that you can<br />
read and hear the Anglo-Saxon, but also read, and chant the<br />
modern English translation into alliterative verse. Get ready<br />
to go skin-on-skin with an intruding, evil monster, and rip<br />

Phil Jimenez, writer/artist for DC Comics, conducts a talk back!<br />
Normally, fans ask the creators questions but in this one hour<br />
panel, the tables are turned. But Jimenez wants to hear from<br />
you, and get your take on the industry, how it’s working and<br />
not working; your favorite characters; what’s important in<br />
queer-themed material; and various and sundry other questions<br />
that will no doubt be inspired by these forum built for friendly<br />
