adrninistrator or the affairs of the community, she displayed
a keeness of discerrunent and an ad~ptation of means
to the end, while ·always there was
the sam,e compass of wind

Ever cheerful, even when a loser,
she served as a constant source of inspiration to those
aro,~.nd her. Her overwhelming earnestness, and the spirit
she infused into all with whom
she came in contact, .largely
contributed to the perpetuation in the Auckland community

the problems connected with the poor, the suffering,
and the neglected of humanity.
