Brentano Ultimo has been started for Dressage Training at Whispering
Dream Farm in Florida
Press release from: WHISPERINGDREAM.COM
Ocala April 28, 2009. One week after famous US Dressage Horse Brentina under Debbie McDonald has been retired in an
emotional ceremony during ROLEX World Cup Finals 2009 in Las Vegas, Brentina’s half-brother, the 3 year-old Hanoverian
Brentano Ultimo has been carefully started for Dressage at Whispering Dream Farm in Florida.
While still under the emotions of the touching tribute event at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Alice
Stuebling-Salm, owner of Brentano Ultimo said that it might be time to start this young horse with the prominent heritage
getting him to see the arena.
Brentano Ultimo sired by famous Brentano II and out of dam sire Weltmeyer cannot deny his family relation to the most
celebrated Dressage horse in US history. The 16.2 chestnut gelding just differs by one less white sock than his legendary
half-sister but otherwise is the perfect match by his exterior.
Brentano Ultimo was born in 2006 at a small farm near Ankum, Germany when Alice Stuebling-Salm had traveled to
Germany acquiring a two-year old Rotspon offspring. Seeing the Brentano offspring she immediately fell in love with the
4-months old Hanoverian colt and bought him right on the spot. She kept him for a few more weeks with her mother and a
sister foaled a year earlier before she moved him to close by Rudi Rehkamp’s stable in Bersenbrueck, Germany. He already
had successfully started the Rotspon offspring for Alice and they were trusted for their personal attention for each and every
young horse.
Traveling frequently to Germany, Alice checked on the development of young Brentano several times a year. Brentano
Ultimo – who got this name since he is one of the last offspring of both now retired Brentano II and dam sire Weltmeyer –
was making great progress while still being playful and enjoying the lush pastures of the Emsland region in northern
Germany.
“At the time Alice picked him up in December, I had 37 young stallions at my stable. All by outstanding heritage. But no one
compared to the young Brentano”, says Rudi Rehkamp, owner of Rehkamp’s Training Stable in Bersenbrueck, Germany.
“Brentano Ultimo is truly a once-in-a-lifetime horse and I’m sure that we all will hear back from him in the future”.
But according to Alice Stuebling-Salm, only time will show if Brentano Ultimo will fit into the big foot-steps left by famous
half-sister Brentina in the Dressage World.
