Gruvlok ® Grooved Couplings, Fittings & Flanges<br />

Gruvlok ® fittings are designed to provide quick, secure and reliable<br />

solutions for joining pipe-to-pipe. Fittings for grooved-end pipe are<br />

available through 24" Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) and metric sizes in a<br />

variety of styles. AnvilStar also offers Short Pattern Products through<br />

8" to meet all of your fire protection needs. Plain-end fittings are also<br />

available through 16" NPS in a variety of styles. Other materials include<br />

stainless steel and copper.<br />

Anvil’s Gruvlok ® Couplings provide quick and easy installation. Durable<br />

material construction make these ideal for almost any fire protection<br />

application in both wet and dry systems. The couplings' housing is made<br />

from ductile iron conforming to ASTM-A536, Grade 65-45-12 and are<br />

available in sizes ranging from 1" through 30". Couplings, are UL/ULC<br />

Listed and FM Approved in all standard sizes. They <strong>com</strong>e with<br />

DRI-SEAL ® (lubeless) gaskets, identified by purple nuts.<br />

The line of Gruvlok ® Sock-It ® Fittings includes tees, tees <strong>com</strong>patible with<br />

most light wall pipe with NPT threaded outlets, straight couplings, 90º<br />

elbows and reducing elbows with pressures ranging as high as 300 psi.<br />

AnvilStar is the only provider in the industry that offers 2 1 ⁄2" Sock-it<br />

Fittings for larger diameter end-prep pipe connections.<br />

The Gruvlok ® 7012 Flange allows direct connection of Class 125 or<br />

Class 150 flanged <strong>com</strong>ponents to a grooved piping system. This flange is<br />

the fitter’s best friend as it opens with a hinge pin and allows the easiest<br />

installation for a pipe fitter.


Gruvlok ® Valves<br />

Gruvlok ® Valves are <strong>com</strong>pact, cost effective and designed for<br />

use in grooved-end pipe fire protection systems and related<br />

equipment. They are UL/ULC listed and FM Approved with a<br />

working pressure of 300 psi.<br />

The Gruvlok ® AE Grooved End Butterfly Valve is UL Listed and FM<br />

Approved as a system control valve. The valve is rated at 300 psi for steel<br />

pipe in the 2" - 10" sizes and agency rated for both indoor and outdoor<br />

service.<br />

The Gruvlok ® Grooved Check Valves can be used in fire protection<br />

connections such as fire department pumper to sprinkler systems, public<br />

water supplies to automatic sprinkler systems, fire pump discharges and<br />

bypass, and gravity/pressure tanks.<br />

The 171N Threaded Ball Valves are UL listed and FM Approved for use in<br />

fire protection systems. Valves have a rugged, dependable design, meeting<br />

rigid specification for residential, <strong>com</strong>mercial and industrial applications.<br />

The two piece 171N full port design is available in sizes 1 ⁄4" through 4".<br />

All valves conform to MSS-SP-110, MSS-SP-25<br />

and Federal Specification WW-V-35B<br />

Type II, Class A Style 3. The valves are<br />

available in triple stem seal, hard<br />

chrome plated ball, blow-out<br />

proof stem, adjustable packing<br />

gland, a bubble tight shut off and<br />

a floating ball for an economical<br />

solution.<br />

Designed for maximum reliability, efficiency<br />

and safety, Anvil ® Gruvlok ® Roll Groovers<br />

provide peak performance at a low cost, and<br />

their rugged construction keeps<br />

the need for maintenance at a<br />

minimum. Ease of operation and<br />

a user-friendly design allow for quick set-up<br />

and roll change.<br />

All Gruvlok ® Roll Groovers feature our<br />

exclusive, patented hands-free nipple guide<br />

system, which enables the shortest nipple<br />

grooving in the business and hands-free<br />

operation for maximum operator safety.


SPF Grooved Couplings, Fittings & Flanges<br />

SPF Grooved Couplings and Fittings provide a rigid or flexible pipe<br />

connection for fire protection systems with dependable seals over a range<br />

of internal pressure situations. SPF also offers Short Pattern Products<br />

through 8" to meet all of your fire protection needs.<br />

Quick and easy installation and durable material construction make<br />

these SPF couplings ideal for almost any fire protection application in<br />

both wet and dry systems. The coupling’s housing is made from ductile<br />

iron conforming to ASTM-A536, Grade 65-45-12. They are UL/ULC<br />

Listed and FM Approved and range in size from 1 1 ⁄4" to 12". They are also<br />

offered with a pre-lubricated gasket.<br />

SPF Flanges, offered from 2" through 12", are all UL and ULC listed as<br />

well as FM Approved. Maximum working pressure is 300 psi.

AnvilStar offers a variety of Steel Pipe<br />

Nipples and Steel Pipe Couplings for the<br />

fire protection industry.<br />

Anvil’s Steel Pipe Nipples are<br />

manufactured in accordance with ASTM<br />

Standard Specification A733-Welded and<br />

seamless carbon steel and stainless carbon steel<br />

and stainless steel pipe nipples. Materials include<br />

black and hot-dipped galvanized finishes. Anvil ® manufactures a<br />

wide range of stock pipe nipples in 1 ⁄8" diameter through 8" diameter<br />

close through 72" inch length in half-inch increments. We also<br />

offer standard nipple packs ranging from one each (close to 6") and<br />

standard six packs which offer multiple counts of each. Cartons are<br />

packed with handles for easy carrying.<br />

Steel Pipe Couplings are manufactured in accordance with ASTM<br />

specification A865. Straight-tapped couplings range in size from 1 ⁄8"<br />

NPS through 2" NPS, while 2 1 ⁄2" NPS and larger are taper tapped.<br />

Anvil ® Cast Iron & Malleable<br />

Iron Threaded Fittings<br />

AnvilStar offers the most <strong>com</strong>plete line of Cast Iron and Malleable Iron<br />

Threaded Fittings in the industry. Our versatile range of fittings is designed<br />

to provide dependable, fire-rated service.<br />

Cast Iron Threaded Fittings are manufactured in accordance with ASME<br />

B16.4. They are UL listed and FM Approved and are available in sizes<br />

1 ⁄4" NPS through 12" NPS.<br />

Cast Iron Flanged Fittings are manufactured in accordance with ASME<br />

B16.1 and are available in Class 125 and Class 250.<br />

Malleable Iron Fittings are available in a number of classes, including<br />

Class 150 (standard weight) and Class 300 XS/XH (with extra-heavy<br />

banded pattern fittings). In both classes, all Elbows and Tees 3 ⁄8" and larger<br />

are 100% gas tested at a minimum of 100 psi (6.9 bar).


SPF DI & CI Threaded Fittings<br />

SPF Ductile Iron Threaded Fittings are UL/ULC Listed and FM Approved<br />

for 500 psi service. These fittings provide a dependable threaded connection<br />

and are available in a range of styles and specifications. All SPF Ductile<br />

Iron Threaded Fittings dimensions conform to ANSI B16.3 Class 150<br />

requirements, and threads are NPT per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1.<br />

SPF Cast Iron Threaded Fittings are UL/ULC Listed and FM Approved for 300<br />

psi service. These fittings are available in a range of styles and specifications.<br />

All SPF Cast Iron Threaded Fittings dimensions conform to ANSI B16.4 Class<br />

125 requirements, and threads are NPT per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1.<br />

Merit ® Tee-lets, Drop Nipples<br />

& Steel Welding Flanges<br />

Merit ® offers a variety of Tee-lets, Drop Nipples and Steel Welding Flanges<br />

for fire protection applications. All products are UL/ULC Listed and FM<br />

Approved and rated at 300 psi.<br />

Tee-lets and are designed and manufactured to reduce the amount of weld<br />

required for Tee-Let installation on thin wall and proprietary flow pipe.<br />

Merit ® Eliminator Adjustable Drop Nipples provide the user with the ability<br />

to adjust fire sprinkler assemblies to fit flush to the finished ceiling without<br />

having to cut a drop nipple or drain the system.<br />

Merit ® Longneck Drop Nipples provide an integral 1 ⁄2" or 3 ⁄4" NPT threaded<br />

outlet, which eliminates threaded reducing couplings, and labor make-up costs.<br />

<br />

Merit ® Steel Welding Flanges <strong>com</strong>ply with the AWWA C207, Class D<br />

specification for steel plates flanges. They are UL Listed and FM Approved<br />

for 175 psi at ambient temperatures up to and including 12" sizes, while<br />

over 12" sizes are rated for 150 psi at ambient temperature.<br />

O’Lets<br />

The forged-steel MT-40 SPF outlet fittings are contoured to provide a<br />

precise fit at the opening in the run pipe and conform to standard practice<br />

MSS SP-97. These outlets are available in sizes 1 ⁄2" – 2" for 1 1 ⁄4" – 8" run<br />

sizes. All fittings are UL/ULC Listed, and FM Approved for use in fire<br />

protection systems. All threads <strong>com</strong>ply with ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 for NPT.

Our experience with pipe hangers and supports dates back<br />

to the 1850s, and our engineering and testing expertise has<br />

produced the finest line of products the industry has to offer.<br />

Our Anvil ® brand of pipe hangers brings this same quality<br />

to our fire-rated product line. These include Adjustable<br />

Swivel Rings, Adjustable Clevis Hangers, Riser Clamps,<br />

Medium Pipe Clamps, C-Clamps, and Universal Beam<br />

Clamps with a standard and wide throat, and Rod<br />

Threaded Ceiling Flanges.<br />

Strut & Strut Fittings<br />

Anvil ® offers a <strong>com</strong>plete line of fire-rated, channels, fittings and<br />

accessories. Channels, NFPA Approved as trapeze hangers, are a<br />

cost-effective way to hang sprinkler piping.<br />

Our metal framing strut systems provide unmatched versatility for addressing virtually any<br />

support problem, without the need for expensive welding.<br />

Structural-quality channels are available in stock lengths of 10 and 20 feet. Custom lengths<br />

are available upon request to meet your specific configuration needs. A variety of finishes<br />

are available, including hot-dipped galvanized, pre-galvanized, and painted — along with<br />

material choices of steel, stainless steel and aluminum.


Mueller ® Valves<br />

Mueller ® Valves are available in a variety of styles for fire protection<br />

applications including O.S.&Y. Resilient Wedge Gate Valves, and<br />

Swing-Type Check Valves.<br />

Mueller ® Valves are ideal for flanged fire pump applications and other<br />

system control valve needs.<br />

Mueller ® Indicator Posts<br />

Mueller ® offers both underground and wall Indicator Posts for easily<br />

identifying whether a valve is open or closed.<br />

Mueller ® Indicator Posts are used in fire<br />

protection systems and perform several<br />

functions. The Indicator Post provides a<br />

means to operate a buried or otherwise<br />

inaccessible valve. Also, the Indicator Post<br />

readily and clearly indicates whether the valve<br />

is open or shut. All Mueller ® Indicator Posts are<br />

UL Listed, ULC Listed and FM Approved and<br />

are designed to withstand up to 900 ft.-lbs. of<br />

operating torque.<br />
