“America has always been a resilient nation. Our people have been
and must equally be so through any and every trauma. Whether it be
military or a natural disaster, the role of America's health care
providers in service to those with PTSD is critically important. The
National PTSD to PTSG Conference for Military Veterans, Families and
Children and health care providers in Mobile, AL on November 3 and 4,
2011 at Ft. Whiting is applauded. America appreciates Mental Health,
Public Health, Veterans Affairs, Alabama National Guard and Auburn
University all coming together for those impacted by trauma.”
— Former U.S. Senator Max Cleland
Traumatic experiences can
produce turmoil in a survivor's life,
but they can also lead to new
possibilities. Growth often occurs
out of struggling with something
very difficult, and practitioners are
beginning to recognize that
continuing personal distress and
growth often coexist in the
aftermath of a crisis. This
conference will bring together
primary care professionals and
military personnel interested in
understanding how to prevent,
assess, treat and heal the invisible
wounds of PTSD with a focus on
promoting resiliency and helping
survivors to thrive.
