Habitat:<br />

Roadsides, open sunny areas, disturbed areas, and<br />

degraded pastures.<br />

Ecological Impact:<br />

Crowds out native plants, especially in<br />

riparian areas. Forms monoculture.<br />

Similar Native Species:<br />

Engelmann’s Daisy, Plains Coreopsis, Maximillian<br />

Sunflowers<br />

Removal:<br />

Dig up whole plant including taproot and then plant<br />

native seeds to compete with invasive plant seeds<br />

left in the soil.<br />

Spreading:<br />

Spreads by seeds and quickly covers ground with a<br />

blanket of leafy rosettes (circles of leaves at<br />

ground level).<br />
