Elegance 

The concept of luxury is far from new, 

but its definition does change with the 

times...And improves. 

In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, when French 

and English palace décor set the styles of design, royal 

excesses of the past had become insupportable and were 

rejected in favor of simpler, more classic designs. 

Greek and Roman principles of design were dictated by 

Napoleon in France, while King George IV of England 

embraced a more pure standard for his court. The result 

became defined as Neoclassic and Regency styles that 

inspired the Wellington Court Collection some two 

centuries later. 

Wellington Court embodies refinements of this era 

with its styles that bespeak old wealth and high station 

without need for ostentation. 

Functionality was a hallmark of this time. Classic, 

sometimes bold silhouettes were often combined with 

subtle but intricate details. Furniture was scaled to a 

more intimate size. 

The curves of Wellington Court are shapely and 

understated. Surfaces are clean but enhanced with 

touches that emphasize their purity of line. 

Wellington Court is distinguished by its generous use 

of rarely used woods and superb design execution. 

Woods include French Walnut, beautifully grained 

American Walnut solids and burls, African mahoganies, 

and Eucalyptus solids -- all endlessly intriguing with 

their differing characters and juxtapositions in the 

collection’s home finish of Mink. 

With typical English restraint, Wellington Court 

doesn’t reveal every nuance upon first encounter. Its 

subtle refinements are perceived by degrees. Ebonized 

borders, shading, and double-toned geometric inlays 

elicit a second look. This is furniture to love for all time.

Twisted reeded posts with pineapple carvings below the spiral 

shank taper up to laurel leaves encircling and supporting a short 

top post that terminates in a smaller pineapple finial within a 

lotus leaf cup. Available as a veneer headboard or a padded, tufted 

headboard in the cover of your choice. Uniform side rails span 

the distance between square, stalwart bases for each post. French

This Roman inspired nightstand features your choice of a French Walnut veneer with an ebonized inlay and short 

grain French Walnut veneer border, or St. Laurent Marble top. Its pull-out tray has an American Walnut veneer 

surface and Walnut stump veneer front edge and brass pull. The three drawers below the tray are flanked by reeded 

columns capped with laurel leaf urn carvings. A plinth base completes the classic look. Centered brass decorative

Sure to be a favorite is this late 18th century 

bedside table of French Walnut veneer and 

American Walnut and Perillo solids. It features 

a pair of drawers set side by side with a single 

wider drawer below. Fluted upper posts and 

reeded legs are separated by graceful elongated 

spindles. The lower shelf will hold books and 

magazines nicely. Drawers are punctuated with 

regal lion’s head pulls and a single decorative

Walnut veneer bordered with American Walnut Burl, and a wonderful 

complement of dining chairs, including an Italian inspired chair with a back that 

features a cluster of laurel leaves set in an urn beaded with overlapping hearts.

This generous table features an interior expanse of beautiful, wide swirl 

French Walnut veneer bordered with American Walnut Burl between 

double inlays of ebony and white surrounded by a Walnut Stump veneer 

border. Each of the double pedestals features a row of beading near the top 

and sits in a lotus leaf cup, which is perched on a larger inverted lotus leaf

Curio Cabinet 

Inspired by an Italian doorway of the same period of this 

collection’s inspiration, this curio frames your display with 

an overarching trail of Acanthus bellflowers. The back panel 

is American Walnut veneer. Tempered glass doors and glasssided 

end panels enclose three adjustable plate-grooved glass 

shelves and rheostat-controlled interior lighting. A flare of 

gathered reeds form the perfect door handles. Perillo solids.

Credenza 

A border of short grain French Walnut veneer with an ebonized inlay surrounds 

a broader expanse of French Walnut veneer on the top. For the marble version, 

the Walnut borders New St. Laurent marble with beveled, polished edges. This 

marble has the depth of a chocolate night sky sprinkled with far away stars and 

wisps of cloud, then drizzled with honey. Three upper drawers have Walnut 

Stump veneer fronts with brass pull tabs. Each is flanked by a pair of handcarved 

oval laurel leaf rosettes. The top center drawer contains a silver tray lined 

with Pacific Silvercloth®, and both end drawers have flat felt liners. Below is an 

attractive configuration of four center drawers and two end doors. Each end door 

is bordered with ebonized line inlays tucked in at the corners, with laurel rosettes 

anchoring the corners, and one adjustable shelf behind. Four drawers have two 

brass rosette knobs each and a centered brass escutcheon. The doors and lower 

drawers are flanked by reeded columns topped with lotus leaf urns.

The top of this elegant table is radial-matched French Walnut veneer 

with an ebonized inlay and Ribbon Stripe French Walnut veneer 

border. It features a triple beaded edge and reeded apron, interrupted 

with rectangular inserts for interest. The top is supported by four 

reeded columns forming a birdcage pedestal, which sits atop Duncan 

Phyfe style legs that terminate in claw-feet casters. The effect is classic

This queenly cabinet has a center door and two smaller end doors of wood framed glass and wood grilles in Gothic 

arches. An American Walnut veneer back panel, three adjustable plate-grooved glass shelves behind each door, 

and rheostat-controlled interior lighting. Cornice is ornamented with a classic moulding. Door hardware is an 

unobtrusive brass pull tab. The saber-legged base has the three drawer fronts adorned with oval inlays of maple and

A late Regency style console constructed of Perillo solids, this piece 

features a stylized Greek Key design base. The trestle sides are 

ornamented with carved anthemion and capped with a sleeve of 

acanthus leaves and scrolled buttresses. Sitting on top is a slab of New 

St. Laurent marble with the depth of a dark chocolate night sky studded 

with distant stars and wisps of cloud, seen through a web of warm

Most pieces of the Wellington Court collection are primarily 

finished in the home Mink finish. This is designated by the 30H- in 

a piece’s order number prefix. 

While this is the finish we think best complements this collection, 

you are by no means restricted to this as being your only option. 

If you wish to order a piece with a different finish, be sure the item 

number’s prefix reads 309-, and then specify your finish. 

Some items are available in a combination of two different finishes, 

such as having one finish for the base, and another for the top.

Woods have grain and color variations due to growth patterns of each tree. The result is a beautiful, unique piece.

Hardware 

In the Wellington Court collection, you will find a splendid variety of decorative hardware that was designed to 

specifically complement the era of the collection, as well as add compelling accents on each piece. 

The metalwork is antiqued brass, born of a lostwax process. Only the lion’s head pulls on the bedside chest piece and 

a sideboard openly proclaim a royal connection. 

Hardware Care 

The decorative hardware on this furniture has been protected with a clear lacquer coat. Use of harsh detergents 

or brass polish in an attempt to obtain high luster will result in the removal of the protective lacquer and will

Care Of Fine Finishes 

Fine Century finishes are resistant to minor everyday hazards; however, some precautions are necessary to maintain 

the beauty of your wood furniture. 

• Dust with a soft, clean cloth slightly moistened with water, and dry completely with another clean cloth, 

always rubbing with the grain. 

• Avoid contact with cigarettes, hot dishes, harsh solvents such as nail polish, alcohol and moisture. 

• Use pads beneath accessories and when writing or eating. Remove spills and smudges immediately. 

• Do not leave pliable plastic materials on a wood surface; they can damage the finish. 

• Do not place furniture near heat outlets, windows, or in direct sunlight. 

Marble 

Marble found in the Wellington Court collection is a product of nature, 

and no two pieces are alike. There will be unique variations in color, 

and each piece has its own distinctive beauty. In the unlikely event that 

marble on your piece arrives damaged, note it on your freight bill, save 

the shipping carton, and contact Century Furniture Customer Service. 

You will be provided with return and replacement instructions.
