and so do flowers. Learning to use colors
successfully will add style and grace to your floral
compositions. This class features use of the color
wheel, while focusing on trendsetting colors.
Both go hand in hand with good color choices.
This hands-on class reinforces color principles
with floral arrangements. A materials fee of $60
is due upon registration. Please bring lunch to

floral designers, from exotic imports to locally
grown. Learn to identify new varieties of old
favorites and interesting, new, seasonally
available flowers and greens. Topics include the
special handling needs of many flower types.
A tour of the Garden grounds in season or the
Enid A. Haupt Conservatory is included. Take
home an assortment of flowers from each class.
A materials fee of $80 is due upon registration.

maintenance of interior plantings are presented
in this course designed for anyone who cares for
indoor plants. Topics include trimming, pruning,
cleaning of foliage and flowering plants, testing
for soil quality and compaction, root problems,
insects, tools and equipment for watering
and cosmetic care, and monitoring the plant’s

York flower district under the guidance of a floral
designer. Take a tour of the Gift Building, where
many designers purchase a variety of floral
wares. Meeting location in the flower district is
