<strong>GPS</strong> 9805 SMD <strong>GPS</strong> Module<br />
<strong>Leadtek</strong>’s <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 <strong>GPS</strong> module is a high sensitivity, low power, SMD type 12-channel<br />
<strong>GPS</strong> receiver designed for a broad spectrum of OEM applications. The <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 is based<br />
on the proven technology found in other <strong>Leadtek</strong> <strong>GPS</strong> products and is designed to allow<br />
quick and easy integration into standard or custom applications.<br />
High Sensitivity<br />
The <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 enables the user to acquire and continue tracking <strong>GPS</strong> signals at far lower<br />
signal levels than is currently possible with other autonomous <strong>GPS</strong> solutions. This means<br />
that <strong>GPS</strong> can now be used in environments previously deemed impossible such as severe<br />
urban canyons, dense foliage, deep inside parking garages, and in many cases indoors.<br />
Ease of Customization<br />
The <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 can be customized for your specific application. A few of the many features<br />
which can be customized are: command protocol, command update rate, serial port baud<br />
rate, controlling which commands are outputted, etc. These features as well as other features<br />
can be changed via simple commands sent to the <strong>GPS</strong> receiver thru the serial port.<br />
Reference design<br />
The <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 offer reference design for customer to understand how to implement the<br />
SMD module into the system. Customer could also follow the reference design to make the<br />
applications such as Smart antennas, on board <strong>GPS</strong> devices, Location Base devices and<br />
PDAs.<br />
Evaluation Kit<br />
The <strong>GPS</strong> 9500 EVK-III is the evaluation kit for the <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 module. The evaluation kit<br />
provides the system integrator with everything they need to quickly integrate the <strong>GPS</strong> 9805<br />
into their system and obtain fast time to market. The evaluation kit can be used to evaluate<br />
the <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 performance, update new firmware to <strong>GPS</strong> 9805, and can also be used as a<br />
development platform.<br />
The <strong>GPS</strong> 9500 EVK-III contains the following:<br />
• One <strong>GPS</strong> receiver (enclosed RS232 serial port board with <strong>GPS</strong> 9805 module) and Quick<br />
Start Manual<br />
• One RS232 serial port cable<br />
• One 5V Adapter with interfaces for American, European, and Australian power outlets<br />
• One CD Rom (User Manual and Software Tool to test <strong>GPS</strong> 9805)<br />
