The world of business is becoming ever more complex and it is important for potential graduates to understand how the
global economy functions and to gain an understanding of the theoretical models and concepts that govern economic
policy around the world.
Economists analyse the allocation, distribution and use of scarce resources, and seek to develop an understanding of
output, employment, income, trade and finance.
Economics is one of the central disciplines that underpin the study of business and management. A degree in economics
will enable you to abstract, analyse, deduce and quantify complex business and social issues and provide you with
significant employment opportunities in a variety of careers in addition to working as a professional economist.
How can I study this degree?
The Greenwich School of Management (GSoM) BSc (Hons) programmes are delivered full-time, with three intakes per year
in October, February and June. This degree is available to study as an accelerated two calendar year programme or
alternatively, more traditionally over three calendar years.
Our two year degree is particularly attractive if you wish to complete your studies more quickly enabling you to enter the
work place a year ahead of your contemporaries. This is achieved by studying 3 semesters per year instead of the usual 2.
The traditional three year programme may be a better option if you would like to enhance your learning by gaining work
experience during the longer break periods or simply wish to enjoy a longer break between your studies.

Students who hold GCSE's or equivalent level qualifications may qualify for direct entry onto the Bachelors degree through
our Extended mode of study. This programme combines the Bachelors degree with a Foundation programme and allows
students direct access to the degree without having to complete Access programme or A Level or equivalent studies
Mature applicants with evidence of full-time work experience supported by a reference from their employer may be

How to make an application
To make an application you must send us the following information:
• Your completed GSoM Application Form
• Application forms are available in your prospectus pack or you can complete the form online. If you need any
help or advice before completing the application form please call the School and speak to a course advisor who
will advise you. You are also welcome to visit the school where we can assist with completing your application.
• The GSoM International Student Declaration Form - If you require a Student Visa to study in the UK you will be
required to complete this form. This is available to download on our website.
• Copies of your qualifications as listed on your application form.
• Your CV / Resume detailing your educational and professional achievements.
• A Reference from a place of study or an employer. - References must be on letterhead paper, signed and dated
by your referee.
• A photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport. - For example front cover, personal details page and any
pages indicating relevant visas or migration stamps.
• The Application Fee of £130. This can be paid by cheque or postal order made payable to 'Greenwich School of
Management Ltd'. Credit/Debit Card, or by Bank Transfer. The application fee is entirely refundable should you
not be accepted.
