We have Thompson & Morgan to thank for this little beauty! Heavily loaded with<br />
deep reddish-purple flowers in the first year on compact densely branched plants.<br />
Purple Pygmy also sports richly aromatic foliage with a spicy licorice scent.<br />
Butterflies & hummingbirds are very attracted to this variety.<br />

hot, humid climates, since the feathery foliage may melt in the warm, wet<br />

A first year flowering hybrid involving tangutica, Helios is a robust vine<br />
displaying large 3” lantern-like golden-yellow blooms with a silvery<br />
edge. The blooms appear as early as 3 months after sowing and open<br />
wide to stay for awhile. After blooming Spring-Fall, decorative silvery<br />
seed heads appear. Grows to 6’. Full sun. Zone 4.<br />

Our 2nd type of Annual Lemon Grass is native to East India. The fibrous leaves<br />
have a strong midrib, sharp edges, and purple bases. Lemon Grass is known for its<br />
strong lemon scent and produces an oil which is used for flavoring foods, making<br />
teas, and can be used for medicinal purposes. Not only is Lemon Grass useful for its<br />
oil, it makes a great ornamental specimen as well! Grows 2-4’. Full Sun. Zone 9-11.<br />

The darkest purple basil-almost black. Amethyst is the only purple,<br />
Genovese-type Basil and has large, thick, down-turned leaves. Great<br />
for pesto, but also stunning as an ornamental.<br />

fragrance. Leaves are so fine textured they can be used whole. Easily<br />
