of the Guild of Television Cameramen
held on Thursday, 20 th May 2010 at ARRI (UK) Ltd, Oxford Road, Uxbridge at 6.30pm

Apologies for absence were received from John Henshall, Clive North, John Rossetti, Eric Samuel, and
Mike Solomons.
The Chairman, Brian Rose, acknowledged that the notice and agenda for the meeting was not issued in
accordance with the rules, but stated he thought the meeting should still be considered valid and the
business transacted lawful. The meeting agreed this.
Address by the President
The President, Dick Hibberd, opened the meeting by giving his views on a number of matters relating to
the Guild and the work of cameramen. He particularly mentioned a letter he had written to the Director
General of the BBC on the lack of credit given to camera operators in its programmes. He stated he
was impressed by the dedication of cameramen to their craft. He also thanked Council members for all
they did on behalf of the Guild. He concluded his remarks by thanking ARRI for its generosity in hosting
the meeting.
Minutes of the 37 th AGM
The Minutes of the meeting were circulated to members. Paul Kay proposed they be accepted as a
true record, seconded by Dick Hibberd, and this was agreed by a show of hands (with one abstention).
Matters Arising from the Minutes of the Previous Meeting
Brian Rose reported Council had felt that vetting before accrediting members with the letters MGTC or
FGTC for inclusion after their name in formal documentation would overburden the work of the Council
and therefore was not currently carried out.

Chairman's Report
At a time when the television industry is still under threat, your Guild continues to buck the trend by
becoming even stronger.
This is in no small way due to the tremendous efforts being carried out by members of the GTC Council.
It is through their hard work that not only the members of the Guild gain, but perhaps more pleasing for
me at least; the industry as a whole.
In an industry faced by ever-diminishing budgets, I am pleased to report that whilst offering members
more and more opportunities and facilities, we see no necessity to raise the membership fees that were
established several years ago. Again, I must emphasise that this is in no small way due to the hard work
of Council members, putting tremendous efforts into the running of the organisation.
But exactly what is that 'industry'?
When the GTC was established, its members worked in what was then called 'broadcast' television.
Today, the moving pictures created by our members are distributed by far more platforms - many of
which could not have been foreseen by its founding members.
Terrestrial television, satellite, DVDs, video-on-demand, mobile phones, digital signage, and corporate
communications are just a few of the areas in which we have an established presence. We have to
recognise this, by making new friends in these areas and by opening up these new opportunities. And
this, I am delighted to say, we are doing.
The GTC Website is now well established and is being used not only by members; but also by
producers, broadcasters, and programme makers. It has very much become our 'shop window',
promoting not just the Guild, but excellence in camera skills as well.
This is an important asset and has continued to succeed, thanks to the hard work of the sub-committee
of Alison Chapman, John Hoare, James French, and Martin Hammond.
One area of tremendous growth is the presentation of GTC Workshops. Thanks to huge efforts of
organiser, Clive North, as well as generosity of our Sponsors, not only are they now more frequent, and
more evenly spread across the country, but are rapidly becoming over-subscribed.
For many years, our presence at exhibitions has been led by the tireless efforts of Exhibition Manager,
Ray Meier. Ray has decided to retire from this post and I hope you will join me in expressing our
gratitude for all his hard work.
Our two publications continue to be led by Alison Chapman (Zerb) and Roger Richards (GTC InFocus)
supported by James French as Advertising Manager. Again, the excellence of both these publications is
an asset to both the Guild and its members.
Behind the scenes, our new Treasurer, Simon Roe, and Secretary, John Rossetti, keep the wheels
turning. They are both working on ways of making the Guild run even more efficiently.
Figures recently published by Skillset would suggest that the number of people leaving the industry is
growing, and yet the GTC membership remains stable, and is indeed growing, if somewhat modestly.
Again, this is a trend, which goes against the rest of the industry, with very few members electing to
resign. It is also particularly gratifying that younger members are joining us and indeed, serving on
Council.
The one area which is disappointing however, is the continued lack of support by GTC members of the
Awards. This has become a prestigious event, with huge efforts put in by Awards Officer Drew Hartley,
and the Event Organiser John Tarby. Their efforts are reflected in the growing status of the GTC among
broadcasters and producers but it would also be more gratifying to see a better attendance by our own
members.
To help improve matters, we have been joined by PR and press guru, David Kirk. His many years
experience in the industry are paying off, with general publicity and coverage.
This was especially true of the election of our first Life President at the Awards. GTC Founder, Dick
Hibberd, has taken on this task, helping to guide and advise the Council.
We continue to meet with other like-minded bodies, both in the UK and internationally. It is very
gratifying that so many people are now turning to the GTC for advice and guidance. Again, this would
not be possible but for the membership and overall excellence of their work. Many, many thanks!
In conclusion, then, on your behalf, I would again like to thank all members of Council for their fantastic
efforts over the past year. Very few people are aware of the amount of time, tirelessly spent in delivering
to both the members and the industry as a whole, what remains a lead organisation.

Treasurer’s Report
As all members should by now be aware, I took over from John Hoare at the start of the Guild's new
financial year on 1 February 2010.
John left both the Guild's finances and their records in excellent shape. The cash flow position was very
positive - over £78,000 in the various bank accounts relating to the Guild and Zerb, over £20,000 in
debtors (sponsors and advertisers) and only £4,000 in creditors.
Despite the recession, bad debts were minimal. We lost about £2,000 in invoiced advertising revenue
from the liquidation of one company, but I'm pleased to report that many of the outstanding debts on
the books at 1 February 2010 (including some dating back to 2008) have now been collected. The
remainder are actively being pursued so that not a penny is lost.
Terry Abrey, our accountant, will present at the AGM a full report on the Guild's accounts for 2009-10.
With the Guild finances in such good shape, I faced the question of whether there was anything
I should change or try to improve. I had some suggestions and also took on the baton of
pursuing some ideas that John Hoare and previous Treasurers had contemplated. I list a few
below:
Move the Guild and Zerb accounts over to a recognised computerised accounting system. This
process has now been completed - both sets of accounts now use Sage Instant Accounts. This
will allow monthly reporting to Council on the Guild finances and already provides James French
with up-to-date detailed reporting on current debtors for sponsorship and advertising invoicing.
Reconsider the members' insurance scheme. This has now been considered and Council
decided to no longer provide this as a benefit to members, saving the Guild over £4,000 per
year.
Collect all the outstanding debts from pre-1 February 2010. James French and I are making
excellent progress on this, and we expect to collect all those outstanding debts except for the
one company that went into liquidation.
Chase debts on a commercial basis going forward, pushing for 30-day payment from sponsors/
advertisers and paying suppliers on 30-day terms.
Review the Guild's bank current accounts
The service I have received so far from the Guild's bankers, NatWest, has been beyond
inadequate. It is now over 3 months since I became Treasurer and they have not (at the date of
writing) been able to provide me with online access to the accounts. This has slowed down the
ability to produce up-to-date reports for Council.
I intend to undertake a review of the NatWest facility for both Guild and Zerb. In particular,
Council is very interested in the possibility of a current account that will allow the Guild to receive
member subscriptions by direct debit. Other banks may provide this in addition to better
customer service.
Review the Guild's bank deposit accounts
The deposit accounts provide very little interest at present. I have started the review of the
market and already found a Scottish Widows account (2%) that may useful replace the current
Alliance & Leicester account (0.3%).
Establish an annual review by Council of the spending on:
All our suppliers, from website designers to printers, and including the fees paid to our
Advertising and Sponsorship Manager, Zerb and Website Editor, InFocus Editor, Administrator,
and Minutes Secretary. This review to ensure the Guild is getting value for money and that the

suppliers can justify their costs; and
The Guild Awards, to run in conjunction with the review undertaken by the Awards Officer. This
review to ensure that the Awards are provided value for money to: members that attend,
members that do not attend, the Guild as a whole; and
All other areas of the Guild.
Review, and update where necessary, the expenses claim guidelines for Council
Undertake a thorough review with the Guild's accountant on the split in accounting procedures
between the Guild and its Zerb publishing arm. This was established as a tax-saving measure
and, at the suggestion of the Guild's accountant, is now time for review.
Remove the use of cheques and paper-based accounting wherever possible. John Hoare made
excellent progress on this. Once I have full online banking access, almost all payments will be
made by BACS, including Council expenses. We will also encourage those providing income to
the Guild to pay by BACS. This will dramatically reduce the administrative burden on the
Treasurer and reduce the postage budget. In the last few days the Guild is now signed up to
the online submission of tax information, such as VAT and Corporation Tax.
There are a number of other small background changes to the financial set-up, intended to
streamline the operation of the Guild's finances. Each change will be reported to Council at its
meetings.
And finally, I will work closely with Council to encourage it to spend the Guild's money for the
benefit of members in as many diverse ways as possible.

Education and Awards Officer’s Report
Education
Colleagues I can hardly believe that a year has past by so fast. This year has been even busier than
the last mainly due to the GTCʼs excellent new website which has, as you can imagine, attracted a lot of
attention to the Guild and our remit.
As Iʼve said before, as the current Education Offi cer, Iʼm always kept busy, replying to and advising
students on how to enter our industry, both television and film. At one stage I was receiving three to
four enquiries a week, via the Contact Us site, letters, and visiting Universities. They seem to be in a
constant flux vis-à-vis whom to contact. Added to this is the vast emerging technological advances
regarding camera formats. As soon as we adapt our workflow, another new format is thrown into the ring
or as we as a camera orientated organisation may like to call it, a ʻcircle of confusionʼ.
On a more serious note, it is with great dismay that I have to report that the longstanding FT2 training
scheme is to cease its activity this year. In the interest of clarification on this matter, here is the official
quote.
ʻBecause of the lack of funding it has been decided by the FT2 Board that FT2ʼs training activity will
cease in March 2010 and that a timetable will be drawn up for winding up the organisation.ʼ
However according to my sources the FT2 Board has entered dialogue with the Sector Skills Council
and potential partners regarding its proposed new Craft and Technical Centre of Excellence; exactly
what this will be is something that, at the time of writing, Iʼm seeking further clarification about. Rest
assured the Guild will still continue to support and call for on-the-job training and I will be writing a letter
of support to Sharon Goode the Director of FT2.
There has been no further dialogue either with me personally or as the GTC Education Officer regarding
Skillset Screen Academies. Of course, we will be continuing dialogue with the Sector Skills Council
regarding other training initiatives.

The GTC attended the recent BSC show held at Elstree Studios, which Iʼm pleased to say at least as far
as Iʼm aware, resulted in a slight increase in our membership figures. I strongly recommend that the
Guild attend next yearʼs event.
Awards
Itʼs that time of the year again when the nominations start to increase in number. Last year the subcommittee
took a decision to extend the deadline; however, as this didnʼt result in any last minute
nominations, Iʼd like to propose that we return to the 30
th June as a closing date for the Award for
Excellence nominations.
As you may appreciate it takes the Awards Team time to validate the nominations; so please do give as
much information as possible, it really helps us if you could provide or make a mental note as to the TX
time, Channel and the Original TX Date.
I mention this, as due to the various multiplexes on the digital platform being full of repeats i.e. (some
programmes commented on were originally broadcast a year beforehand) making them ineligible for
consideration. One other point Iʼd like to make is, that its not the programme we award, its the
cameramen working on it; so please watch the credits carefully (that is if the titles donʼt shrink to a
smaller size; which by the way links in with our other remit ʻStandardsʼ ; in that any bad examples should
be addressed to the BCSC British Camera Standards Council, but as that is beyond my remit as far as
this report is concerned, Iʼll leave it there for the moment once again.
I wish to thank you, our members for nominating programmes you deem to be worthy of our Award for
Excellence; without your help there would be no Awards. Thanks for all your help during the GTC
Awards season 2009.
Finally as this is the end of the current Councilʼs two year period in offi ce, Iʼd like to thank you for your
support and should I be re-elected I look forward to serving you, my fellow members and colleagues
once more on the GTC Council.

Exhibition Manager’s Report
Since last AGM, the Guild was present at various exhibitions:
IBC Amsterdam:
We had our traditional position in the Publications passage and met various cameramen from a number
of countries As always, Zerb was very popular, with some people coming round to our stand for the
latest copy to add to last year's collection...The show was well attended despite the surprise absence of
Sony. Their space was filled with various little stands which were very interesting, showing a goods
selection of equipment and gismos.
BVE /Production show, Earls Court.
The decision to spit the show into two distinct parts worked well and most visitors were quite pleased
with the choice of equipment on display. The stand team signed on 16 new members.
BSC Show Elstree
The GTC did have a position at the show which was very busy with (mainly) film people. Several
enquiries were received with good prospects of being followed up with formal membership applications.
After BVE I resigned my function as Exhibition Manager but remain a member of Council. Martin
Hammond has agreed to take on the task and I wish him the same amount of support that I enjoyed.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all those who assisted with the manning of
the stands, especially Paul Kay and the always reliable Dudley Darby. Also, my sincere thanks to Alison
who, without fail, supplied new posters and packages of Zerb to the various locations, thereby making
my job much easier and enjoyable ( always nice to speak to you, Alison).

Advertising Managerʼs Report

The last twelve months have proved very tough in terms of advertising revenue. All magazines and web
sites have suffered a fairly large drop in income, due to the recession, and the GTC was no exception.
Many companies have drastically cut their advertising budgets, whilst many others have reduced the
size of their ads or taken fewer of them. This gave me quite a challenge. I held rates at the same level
as last year and worked with our advertisers to keep them on board. Many are now opting for the
considerable savings to be made by purchasing multiple placings, either in the same magazine, or
across both Zerb and GTC In Focus and the web site. This benefits us too as we have a better idea of
income across the year. I have also managed to increase my database of potential and actual
advertisers, with the result that overall income remained similar to last year.
Of course my work has also been made easier by Roger Richard's and Alison Chapman's efforts in
producing such superb quality magazines, that are much admired the world over.
Despite the web site expanding in terms of content and features, I do think this is an area that many of
our sponsors and advertisers overlook. Our rates are extremely competitive and I have figures
demonstrating the increasing popularity of the site. The important point, of course, is that everybody
visiting the site sees their ad, whether they are a member or not. So my target for 2010 - 2011 is to grow
the web site income without impacting on magazine ad sales.
Sponsorship Liaison Officer’s Report
After many years of sterling service for the GTC, Les Ager stood down as our Sponsorship Officer last
year. It cannot be understated the tremendous contribution Les made to the GTC's coffers and its
Council Meetings. For as long as I can remember, he has beavered away, quietly and efficiently, mainly
in the background, and built up a tremendous list of generous sponsors. Without them, the GTC would
not only find it harder to operate due to lack of resources, but also we would be much less relevant. The
fact that companies approach our members for advice on new products, participate so actively on the
Internet forum and help us with organising many interesting and beneficial workshops for our members,
shows the high regard that they hold our organisation in.
As I already spoke to the sponsors for advertising, it seemed sensible that I volunteer, at least in the
short term, to take over Les' role. I have spent the last few months getting up to speed and explaining
the changes to our sponsor contacts. We have lost a few old friends over the past twelve months but
also gained a number of new ones. A few have asked to reduce their contributions for a short period, to
tide them over the difficult times we find ourselves in. I take the view that it is better to work with these
problems, rather than lose the sponsor completely.
The overall result is that sponsorship income has remained very similar for this year as last.

Membership Officer's Report
Since this time last year we have had 214 new member applications, most of which now come through
the Website. Of those we have been able to approve 109 Full members, 18 Associate members, 3
Affiliate members, 5 Student members and 2 Academic members; that is a total of 137, and we are still
waiting for further information from the other 77.
I have also been trying to contact those members whose membership has lapsed or who have resigned
to find out why and to see if we can persuade them to reconsider. Those who have lapsed have
usually done so because they have changed their address or their bank account and have forgotten to
tell us. Those who have resigned usually say that they are no longer active as cameramen. I shall
continue to pursue them.

Workshop Coordinators Report

A successful year for the workshops division of the GTC!
We had ……
'A Grade Day Out - Again!' was held on 30th April courtesy of Molinare and proved a great success
again with approx. 30 attending, including one who flew from New York specially and one who joined up
and flew from Cork on the strength of this event!
'To P2 or Not to P2' , the first in our series of three Panasonic-sponsored 'roadshows' took place in
Bristol on 22nd June. Although poorly attended Marc Irwin from Panasonic was totally blown away by
the feedback he got from members and went away to completely reassess their approach to freelances
and independent producers using P2.
Alison Chapman's 'live' reports on the GTC website from the event were great and really impressed the
Panasonic team!
We had the second 'To P2 or Not to P2' workshop at Salford University on the 21st July which attracted
20 members, followed by a similar event at Panasonic's new facility at Shepperton on 25th August
which had a following of a dozen.
Over the three events around 40 members had a chance to put Panasonic on the spot over P2 -
something which the company found very valuable.
'How to Survive being Freelance' workshops were held at Arri (GB) on 5th November and at The NTI in
Birmingham on 8th Dec.
The London day had around 20 attendees and was enthusiastically received by members and enjoyed
by the contributors - one of whom (Bradley Foreman) ended up becoming a Guild sponsor!
The Birmingham attendance was creaking up until the last few days (I was considering pulling it due to
the costs) when a sudden flurry of interest resulted in around 20 signing up. However on the day there
was another flurry - this time of no-shows due to sudden work coming in, car breakdowns and illness.
This left around 12 members. Apparently the speakers were stoic but understandably disappointed.
"A New Look at HD" sponsored by TopTeks, was held on January 28th and was a sell-out with 37
attending and 23 on the stand-by list!
"Northern Lights" - Lighting guru Jonathan Harrison did a successful day at Camera KitUk in Leeds on
March 8th. A full house of 25 there - exactly the number we had in mind applied for that one.
Helicopter Shooting and Safety - March 27th . I always knew this was going to be a 'good-un' and so it
turned out. We had 40 signed up and a lengthy standby list for cancellations. Star turns Alan Duxbury
and Rex Palmer were to have been joined by Laurie Gilbert over from the Far East but he was unable to
come for family reasons.
Mike Smith of Flying TV, who sponsored the day, did a splendid job arranging a fascinating and
thought-provoking event which even included the 'Hover Challenge' where two members picked by
'lucky' tickets got the chance to fly a helicopter with an instructor for around half an hour. They then
had to fly a steady 360degree turn around a fixed point whilst keeping the on-board camera locked on
the target!
The outputs of the onboard camera and a remote wireless camera were relayed to the lecture room via
radio link set up by LinkSys.
Codecs and Compression - April 24th with Chris Roberts at CVP in the Midlands comprehensively
covered codecs and compression issues in acquisition and post and also streaming and even
compression for mobile phones, dvds, YouTube and the rest.
By the time of the AGM 'LEDS and Fluorescent Lighting' with John Rossetti and Alan Bermingham will
have taken place on 8th May courtesy of Gekko at their HQ at Kenilworth.

Just prior to the AGM on 20th May 'ARRI Cameras - the Next Generation' will have taken place at ARRI
Media.
At the time of writing (4.5.10) there were serious doubts whether the star turn - the new Alexa 35mm
format camera would be available for demonstration (due to delays caused by the volcanic dust cloud).
Demo sequences shot on the Alexa and an overview of the workflows involved were still on the cards
along with the latest in Arri lighting.
Still to Come - 'Meet the Wildlife Filmmakers' - June 28th
This features Tim Shepherd - the time-lapse and motion control expert of 'Life on Earth' fame and John
Waters - well-known 'Meerkat Manor' cameraman plus contributions from Mike Salisbury, producer of five
David Attenborough series and Karen Partridge who is an award-winning natural history producer. The
latter will cover sequence building, story-telling and 'wildlife and the law'. Produced in association with
Bristol Wildlife Filmmakers.
Likely to be sponsored by Panasonic and Pyser-Sgi.
Coming in August - 'Data Wrangling and the Work of the D.I.T.' with Dan Mulligan.
'Work in Progress'
The 'Red Day Out' at Molinare is getting much closer now the building work is almost finished housing
the new Baselight Suite.
'How to Survive as a Freelance' - following the earlier events in London and Birmingham, there is to be
another workshop, this time in Manchester.
Workshops on 'Health & Safety', '3D' and 'Monitoring in the Field' are also on the list for the coming
months.

Zerb Managing Editor Report
Credit goes again to our Advertising Manager, James French, for managing to maintain advertising
revenues on Zerb, as well as GTC In Focus, in an extremely difficult economic climate. This enabled us
once again to publish two very full issues (at 84 pages the Spring issue was the biggest ever).
This year my thanks go to Nigel Cooper for his hard work and support as guest editor on the Autumn
2009 issue, and also to Alan Duxbury who has stepped into to the breach (for the second time) and is
currently working as guest editor on this year's Autumn issue which, amongst many other topics, will be
taking a look at 3D.
Thanks also to our designer Mark Williams from Toast Design and the printers, Nuffield Press of
Abingdon.
In the ongoing quest to make the back catalogue of Zerb more available and searchable, we are
exploring options of how to get more editions of Zerb on to the website as downloadable and
searchable PDFs.
As ever, we continue with the 'guest editor' system on Zerb and so, as always, Alison is on the lookout
for editors and contributors. If you fancy doing something different and having a go at editing our
industry recognised magazine, please contact Alison on zerb.production.07@gtc.org.uk.
GTC Website Administrator's Report

The website continues to grow with a steady stream of members asking to be added to the user
database and an increasing number of hits per day.
The site was relaunched in the Autumn with a new accordion-style navigation structure with a view to
the sidebar being able to accommodate more pages without getting too lengthy. Content continues to
grow but we are always glad to be sent more material, especially images suitable for the home page or
elsewhere, and links or technical information of interest to other members. If you have an idea for
content that it would be good to add to the site, please submit it to Alison Chapman at
webadmin@gtc.org.uk.
Probably the most noticeable recent addition to the site has been the classified ads section which is
already being well used by members with gear to sell. I have not yet been able to gather data on how
many sales are resulting from advertising on the site but we are pleased to have been able to respond
to a request from members to offer this facility. There are couple of features that can be improved
around the logistics of handling ads (like providing a delete facility to the posting member) but these
have been noted and the site designers are working on them.
Do continue to give us your feedback and suggestions for the site. As we build its presence, it also
helps if you can add click-throughs to it from your own sites, so please do continue to do so - if you
would like to add the GTC logo, as a member you can download the Guild's logo at 'GTC Logo
Downloads' under 'Resources'.

Statement of Accounts of both the Guild and Zerb Magazine
The Guild’s auditor, Terry Abrey, presented written financial statements showing the income and
expenditure of both the Guild and Zerb magazine and highlighted the salient points in them. The
Guild’s accounts showed a surplus of income over expenditure of £45,470 with its balance sheet
detailing assets of £167,910 for the year ending 31 st January 2010. The Zerb accounts showed a
trading loss of £17,899 for the year, whilst the balance sheet showed a £83,689 deficit for the year
ending 31 st January 2010.
Mr Abrey stated the accounts showed the Guild to be in good financial order. In answer to a question
from James French, Mr Abrey agreed to show income generated by the website separately in the next
year’s accounts. In response to a question from Alan Pettener, Mr Abrey also agreed to show clearly
staff costs in future accounts. In response to a question by Tony Covell, Mr Abrey gave his view on the
legal status of the Guild and the implications for members of any financial liability. He concluded his
report by thanking John Hoare and Simon Roe in the preparation of the accounts.

Election of Council
Nominations had been received for the following persons to serve on Council for the coming two years:
Brian Rose, John Henshall, John Tarby, John Rossetti, Simon Roe, Drew Hartley, Rex Palmer, Clive
North, John Hoare, Martin Hammond, Paul Kay, Ray Meier, Eric Samuel, Christina Fox, James Fulcher,
Darren Bramley and Daniel Mulligan.
It was confirmed non-voting attendees at Council meetings were Dick Hibberd, Andy Smith, Alison
Chapman, James French, Roger Richards, Sheila Lewis, and Susan Hynard.
It was proposed by Martin Hammond and seconded by Tony Covell that the meeting approve members
of Council as listed. This was agreed nem con. There was no formal election as the number of
nominations did not exceed the vacancies available.
It was noted the next Council meeting would be held on 6 th June 2010 at Pinewood Studios, when
officer positions for the coming year would be agreed.
Awards Ceremony
Brian Rose stated additional nominations for awards presentations were being actively sought.
Archive
John Hoare led a discussion on the possibility of establishing an archive of the Guild and the history of
camera operation by its members over many years. It was stated it was hoped a member would take
responsibility for compiling such an archive. It was agreed Dick Howett would be approached to see if
he wished to offer his services to the Guild in this way. Other ideas mentioned in connection with this
item included the possibility of using a commercial storage facility for the holding of materials,
approaching the Tech-ops web master, and the National Museum of Film and Television in Bradford.
Any Other Business
Tony Covell proposed that Council examine the possibility of changing the Guild’s legal status, possibly
to a charity or company limited by guarantee. This was seconded by Alan Pettener, and agreed by a
majority (with one vote against and two abstentions).
The Chairman read a letter by Eric Samuel, in which he confirmed members’ personal accident
insurance had ended in April 2010.
A proposal was made by John Rossetti in abstentia that all Guild notices and agenda be made
available only by electronic communication. After some discussion, it was agreed notices and agenda
would be posted in compliance with the rules. It was agreed Council would consider this matter, and
bring any recommendations for change to a future General Meeting.
Brian Rose closed the meeting by thanking Council members for their endeavors on behalf of the Guild
during the previous year.
