A team of experts provides coordinated and comprehensive<br />
care for patients with thoracic neoplasms including lung<br />
and esophageal cancer and other chest tumors. Patients and<br />
referring physicians can easily access our system of care to<br />
assure timely referrals to appropriate diagnostic and treatment<br />
services. The multidisciplinary team includes pulmonologists,<br />
thoracic surgeons, diagnostic and interventional<br />
radiologists, lung pathologists, radiation oncologists, medical<br />
oncologists, and a full array of support personnel. The<br />
team meets regularly to establish individually tailored treatment<br />
plans for complex case management. Unique aspects<br />
of the program include cutting edge diagnostic imaging<br />
including the first PET/CT scanner in New England; superb<br />
pulmonary comprehensive evaluation; substantial surgical<br />
expertise including minimally invasive techniques and<br />
VATS; 3-Dimensional conformal radiation therapy and<br />
brachytherapy; cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation<br />
techniques; innovative systemic therapy regimens including<br />
biotherapies; and clinical research and education programs.
