<strong>Tina</strong> M. <strong>Varona</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Relations</strong> <strong>Manager</strong><br />

HARTFORD – July 2, 2013 – <strong>Hartford</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> announced today the<br />

appointment of <strong>Tina</strong> M. <strong>Varona</strong> as <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Relations</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> in the Planning<br />

and Marketing Department.<br />

<strong>Varona</strong> comes to <strong>Hartford</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> from Saint Francis <strong>Hospital</strong> and Medical<br />

Center where she spent nearly seven years expanding the <strong>Hospital</strong>’s <strong>Media</strong><br />

<strong>Relations</strong> Department. Prior to that, she was an award-winning television<br />

journalist for more than 12 years in West Virginia, Connecticut, West Palm<br />

Beach and Miami, Fl.<br />

In her new role at <strong>Hartford</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>, she will be responsible for generating<br />

media coverage, assisting with the creation of promotional and marketing<br />

materials, and produce brand-enhancing messages promoting hospital-wide<br />

events and news conferences.<br />

In addition, she will also coordinate and produce live interviews from within<br />

the hospital’s television news studio. She will continue to advance the<br />

<strong>Hartford</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> News Service (HHNS) with feature writing and the profiling<br />

of patient stories for broadcast.<br />
