Attached is the application for the Ruff-Ross Educational Fund, Inc. Scholarship Application.
The application is for a five hundred dollar ($500) scholarship. It is important that each
applicant carefully completes the form and returns it to a member of the Ruff-Ross Educational
Fund, Inc. The completed application, the transcript and the requested references must be
received by April 15, 2013.
The evaluating committee will consider the student’s scholastic record, financial need,
community involvement, future goals, personal references, and the general appearance of the
application. Some consideration will be given to those students attending historically Black
colleges or universities.
Although seniors graduate in May and June, from their respective schools, the Ruff-Ross
scholarships will be formally awarded at the annual banquet held at the Fairview AME Church
Fellowship Hall in Forest Hill, Maryland on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Attendance at this banquet
is mandatory. Any recipient not in attendance will forfeit the scholarship.
Each scholarship recipient must successfully complete one semester at an institution of higher
learning with a grade point average of “C” or better before the scholarship is sent to the
institution. The scholarship recipient is responsible for notifying and providing evidence to the
Ruff-Ross Educational Fund, Inc. when this first semester is completed. A check will be sent to
the college or university in accordance with the financial aid office information provided by the
recipient.

administrators, pastors/ministers, former employees, etc. No letters of reference from relatives
or school friends will be accepted.
