Life in a Molecular Lab • The molecular lab at the University <strong>of</strong> Minnesota performs testing for hospitals throughout the country • >4000 tests have been performed since the 1990’s.
Receiving the sample • Most <strong>of</strong> our testing is done with blood samples. • We occasionally test other tissue from autopsy (skin, brain). • Testing can be performed on any tissue containing DNA (no hair or fingernails…sorry CSI fans).
