<strong>of</strong> painting, each class introduces the student to<br />

new ideas and techniques and culminates in<br />

participation in weekly critiques. Being on time,<br />

staying for the entire session and committing for<br />

Experienced and new students will enjoy<br />

exploring sculpting techniques. Beginners work<br />

alongside experienced students using simple<br />

slab, coil and hand sculpting <strong>of</strong> masks and basrelief.<br />

Emphasis on sculpting human head<br />

forms, texturing and finishing. Which would you<br />

Instructors: Devorah Saskin and Cynthia Miller<br />

Prerequisite: Previous clay experience.<br />

Open studio for independent work in clay and<br />

plaster. Students will gain experience executing<br />

work in clay and preparing it for firing.<br />

Exchange techniques for executing human and<br />

other forms and learn to apply colorants and<br />

patinas while coping with the limitations <strong>of</strong> clay.<br />
